Im in crazyland where nobody knows anything. :snoop:

Your own quote says that some of the sources are dubious & if you've ever met a Brazilian you'll know that pardo is not considered black in the American sense. For one thing it's just a description of skin tone and can include mixed white & Indians too.

I don't even understand what you're disputing here, all I'm saying is that other countries with black people have different racial/ethnic dynamics.

You def have a point. I know folks from west Africa who never met a white man til coming to the us. Also they didn’t really know the dirty deeds of white peoples activities in Africa or across the globe since they weren’t taught that part of history in school.

Thank you, I'm not sure what these guys are getting angry about. Most people only care about their local/regional affairs, before my Mum came to the UK she didn't even understand the concept of racism because why would she? Every person she ever met was black.

No one is denying Africa was colonised by Europeans.

Alright bro you go to Accra or Lagos and start talking about the white man and see what they say. People who have never met a white man in the life :mjlol:

South Africa has a large white population who control the economy so that's why I mentioned it.

Before you start frothing at the mouth realise Africa is the longest inhabited continent on the planet, Europeans encountered Africa in the 1400s. It's offensive to suggest that the relatively short period of history that Africa was colonised completely defines us.

Lol I’ve been to Accra, so you can’t play those games with me....

If they don’t have a concept of the white man explain Kwame Nkrumah and his whole philosophical concept being based around Pan Africanism and influenced by Marcus Garvey, explain Patrice Luamba, Fela Kuti and etc.

You a stupid fool if you all think continental Africans don’t understand how much white people have destroyed their economies and continent when they still have to deal with the ramifications today, slavery was just the springboard for Imperialism and Colonialism which is still very much a constant thing in the 21st century, most of these countries only got their independence in the 60’s ffs.

I definitely now know you can’t be a black man, cause no self respecting black man would say half the things you say on here.

You don’t need to meet a white man to know he enslaved and colonised your people wtf. Fela Kuti is the biggest African artist of all time based on much of his Pan Africanist ideals, if there wasn’t a consciousness in regards to those things he wouldn’t be as big as he was, of course it takes for you to fully step out your countries into western world countries like USA or U.K. or France to fully understand the evil, but many are aware, you just met one of the many c00ns lmao.

There is an underbelly of more conscious Black Brazilians developing due to their racist nazi president and things that are happening in their country, you don’t pay attention to global politics and meet with other blacks on that wave so you don’t know

We're veering off topic anyway all I stated was that Africans have a different concept of race relations than Americans. If you think they don't then fair enough, I disagree though.

Fela grew up in an affluent household. He had the best schooling available to rich folks. Even receiving education in London. In most African countries there is no public school. If your family doesn’t have money to pay tuition you don’t receive a formal education. That’s why Fela’s music was so powerful because many people didn’t know what he knew since he was exposed to so much more.

It’s why media is so powerful. The power to bring information whether true, false or doctored to the ignorant masses. This rings true til this day.

:gucci: Do you not remember how this exchange started?
The whole planet knows the wm been eating your continent for 500 yrs.

I think Americans need to realise race politics in America don’t apply in other countries.

:skip: Why are you taking about "race politics in America"? We talking about Africa bc, in a thread where bm are coming together to share their pain, a smug African came in and, instead of empathizing, decided to talk slick. :stopitslime:So now we taking (what should have been) a quick segue to remind y'all that the white man was running your shyt too.

Your own quote says that some of the sources are dubious...

I'm disputing your understanding of reality, and apparently that of most Africans(?). White supremacy is a global system, whether they're directly in your face or not. That is changing, yes, but the process is far from over. No disrespect to your friends and family but it's not my fault they've chosen to ignore reality.

Brazilians have recently come to terms with this reality, after centuries of confusion due to their particular form of white supremacy. The American system is starker, and thus we've seen the problem clearly from the beginning. I posted wiki just to have a source but Brazil is changing. Did you miss it? :dwillhuh: Once again, this is a reality you simply haven't come to terms with.

“Black Panther” Is Inspiring Black Brazilians to Occupy Elite, White Shopping Malls
Look at How Much These Afro-Brazilian Kids Love 'Black Panther'
The self-sufficiency of Black Panther's Wakanda is inspiring Afro-Brazilians to look to their own

To everybody else, I'm so sorry for the length of this exchange and esp this post (edited to add spoiler tag :aicmon:). I would never want to take attention from bm sharing and caring for each other (pause). I just didn't expect to take this long explaining reality to a grown damn man. :aicmon:

Like I said Europeans are not the only people to colonise Africa. Other parts were colonised by Arabs or more recently other African groups. That may not matter to you in America but in certain parts of Africa that is the case.

The second part about Brazil is not even up for dispute. The racial dynamics there are completely different to America and aren’t reduced to black & white. I don’t believe I ever said blacks in Brazil denied their African heritage, in fact it can be argued blacks in Latin America have retained far more of the various African cultures that ended up there.

Again, I don’t know why this is a contentious issue. The one-drop rule that existed during and after slavery in America was completely different to how racial relations operated anywhere else in the Americas and that is reflected in the modern day.

Bro any African that can’t realise the implications of colonialism and slavery on that continent is a c00n, and someone I don’t want to be associated with, simple, you definitely can be black I don’t doubt that, just not a black person that I can build or even talk to in any remit, I don’t fukk with peoples who make excuses for white supremacy, maybe it’s your white gf or your social upbringing that’s caused you be this way, but when it comes to topics of race relations with Black people people like you need to sit down, I’ve seen and spoke to white people with more social consciousness and intelligence than you.
