I really got into recycling after I saw a picture of a sea turtle with a plastic straw stuck up it's nose on IG years ago. I purchased reusable straws and stopped buying bottled water immediately. I also got one of those bins from Ikea with compartments for paper/cardboard, plastic, metal/glass to separate my trash. Another thing I try to avoid is buying clothes from those 'fast fashion' companies like Fashion Nova, Pretty Little Things and Shein.

I am pretty serious about recycling too (though we can't forget Reduce is the first R It actually annoys me the amount of resources that go into producing utter tat for the sake of like 12p profit)

Though I am sceptical as to whether my council actually recycles cardboard/paper... if everything goes in the same truck surely it must get contaminated no?

Also, is the tape on Amazon boxes recyclable or nah? I feel like it isn't because there are plastic fibres in it but it can take a while to take off the boxes...

shyt sad that only a very small percentage of items placed in recycle bins actually get recycled.

The recycle facilities don't even recycle the majority of the items they receive.

The energy used to recycle is more than it takes to make something new.

Thank you! I fukking hate recycling, make the major corporations do it and I'm all for it.
