I have never seen anyone look down on smart kids in the black schools I went to.

Not heavily clowned, but I saw kids get teased for being in AP classes "with all the geeks".

Same thing with magnet/gifted programs.

If you were in the same classes as the "cool kids" but excelled, then nobody said anything. But once you started being in different classes, different programs, IB programs and s**t, that's when the slick comments came about.
Its interesting that you say that because if you were in AP, honors, or student council then 9 times out of 10 you would be one of the most popular kids (especially if you was attractive) in the schools I attended:jbhmm:

I can only speak for myself but i was a straight A student, honor role, all that ish

I never got clowned for being smart.

But i think i was somewhat insulated for being a 3 sport athlete. Had i not played sports would my experience have been different??

Maybe but honestly i dont think so. The people who got clowned were just socially weird. Wasnt about GPA

At the HS I went to the AP classes were hard as f**k, required a ton of study, and football/basketball players were advised not to take them.

There was only a couple "popular" girls in the AP classes, and neither of them were as known as the s**t compared to the gen pop. They just were the coolest of the bunch in those courses.

Some of the popular kids in regular courses did fairly well, tho. My senior year I scaled back the difficulty, and saw that.

This thread is nonsense. Nerds get their asses whooped every day and in aevery demographic. Let’s not pretend we have some monopoly on uplifting smart kids.

Gotta disagree breh, smart kids are smart, a valuable commodity in any school setting :comeon:. nerds are annoying af and those got dealt with especially them cac ones.

How do I know? Cuz I was a smart nikka and never had no issues. Matter of fact I was popular in all circles and never had problems getting girls neither :myman::manny:

Pretty much my experience as well:ehh:

Like I had nerdy moments (comics, technology, etc)., but I didn’t give af about a lot and actually dropped out of Hs twice:yeshrug:

I definitely wasn’t an annoying geek... most of the time I was suspended in HS (ISS)... but still passed every class with like an A/B (even got an A in summer school for Algebra 2... I never showed up to first period all year)

I was also playing football/hooping/lifting/boxing:yeshrug:

Biggest regret of my life so far is not maximizing my academic potential because I wanted to be the class clown to fit in with the other kids. I made a 31 on the ACT twice but had like a 2.5 GPA. Hell my senior year I made 3 Fs in English 4 because I flat out didnt do any work and just acted an ass all class period :mjlol:

the only black school i went to was the hbcu....at that point people actually liked or at least pretended to when they asked to "collaborate" with me during tests and projects lmao

but at that point we are at the age where there is no "cool kid" peer pressure bs

I think it depends on the income level of the school. And not every nerd is smart. Someone may be lame, or have bad social skills, and get picked on. Some kids could be popular athletes, and get good grades.

Basically this, besides the income part...that don't matter.

Smart kids adapt, if u around a certain set theres just some things them nikkas don't need to know if we aren't on that level. They don't need to know a nikka read Spiderman and can play a mean game of chess...breh what :what:

Nerds don't have that trait, they awkward all the time I'm sorry but even the smart kids gonna pick on you :pachaha:

Both aren't the same.
