Only difficult game I genuinely remember as a kid was a Mexican wrestling game for the NES

All they did was change yr opponents mask colour

Once you got to the brown masked luchador it was :mjcry:

Only played Madden, NBA Jam etc..sports games in general plus Mortal Kombat. Didn't do any of the Disney or Mario games unless I was at my cousins, but they usually wanted to play Street Fighter.

Got to playing Metal Gear Solid later on in like 1997 or 1998 on PS. Probably the first action/adventure kind of game I owned. Got to the part where you have to switch your controller from one side to the other...got distracted by Need For Speed, Crash Bandicoot 2 and Tekken 3. Think WWF Smackdown was out too and that took up a lot of time.

Wasn't until Sonic Adventure on Dreamcast that I played a non-sports/fighting game from start to finish.

Were the SNES versions of Lion King and Aladdin that much different than the Genesis? :dahell:

Because those were fairly routine 5-day blockbuster rental completions. Maybe even back when it was just 3-day rentals.

I do remember Ecco 2 Tides of Time would have me stuck for hours not knowing where i needed that fukking fish to swim to. I don't think i ever beat that game before i returned it.

Now Sonic PinBall, i flatout just couldn't beat. Skill issues. Would get to like the 3rd or 4th level and i'd die/be out of continues or whatever.

One thing I do miss from that era were those random weird Japanese games or some bootleg Data East-like games.

No lie, it was fukk A link to the past for like 5 months because we didn’t know in the third palace you had to dodge all the spinning floor plates. I would just run in and run out.
