Hate is obviously a stronger word. I deliberately chose the word 'dislike' because I know how people on here are in regards to picking apart a sentence.

And I'm not painting myself into any corner. My initial post was about the ridiculousness of saying a man's message should be completely disregarded because of his character based on other men in history. Then YOU failed to comprehend said message because in YOUR mind you read that as me saying he was a major figure in history, when in fact I didn't. Then you further tried to lead me into saying he was.

Why? What does my perception of what dude is/is trying to say have to do with this? I have no horse in this and haven't purported to defend anything.

This is futile and you know it, I could tell you that I think dude is hung up on the contradictions inherent in post-modern life and (often clumsily) relates the underlying anxieties, tensions and frustration that permeate society, as he struggles to conceive of his own racial identity in terms of communal broad themes being as he is now so far removed from them.

I could say that as with all art the message itself is always peripheral to your interpretation of it.

So what exactly does that have to do with anything? You've already said your piece (many times throughout this thread) so why are you seeking validation?
