I brought the conversation :dahell:

It's not sarcasm and changes his words to yours (hopes to doesn't think) to facilitate your "explanation" ain't acceptable :umad:

You didn't bring anything, breh :comeon: You don't get a line and asked nikkas to explain it and then proceeded to disagree with every nikka that explained it. You're the equivalent of the scrub that brings his basketball to the courts and proceeds to watch other nikkas run full court games from the sidelines.

As for the other point:flabbynsick::

He hopes that what he has earned

You really should have quit many posts ago while you weren't as far behind :pachaha:

I clearly brought the argument...that's not debatable.

Every "explanation" was just an explanation of the rest of the song in some corny attempt to make yourselves sound smart. I knew what the song was about, but this thread was about that line. That line is c00nish, and NOBODY (yourself included) has been able to state why it wasn't.

You can't even keep up with your own post:
He doesn't think his black skin should or does dirty his white tux (symbol of his high class standing) but he realizes that in the minds of many of these old money, old world people around him at the Basquiat show it very well might. And if so...well fukk it

Frank doesn't say that YOU say that...in a desperate attempt to justify your argument. Frank says he hopes it doesn't, not that he didn't think it will.

And your analogy is beyond :flabbynsick: :rudy:

It's Friday night, and I'm out, but I'll catch you on the new board :birdman:

:dead: so frank is supposed to explain that line in a long-winded manner for the dumb fukks that don't get it. you asked for it to be explained, and you got it explained through the arguments of context clues and several other explanations

admit that all you wanted was for people to agree with you, and now :umad: that they aint

:blessed: coli season back in full effect

Yeah the lyrics were very good on this song. Don't really see how it could go over nikkaz head wasn't the most complicated shyt but it was dope and very creative none the less. Just wish the beat would've been soulful, that shot woulda took it to another level.

shyt didn't go over my head. I understood it quite clear. You dont need a PhD in Advanced Robotics to decipher this shyt. It was a multitude of ways he could've conveyed his thoughts rather than "I hope my black skin dont dirt this white tuxedo". I dont like that phrase regardless of "the dualities" :beli: And he chose that line because he knew it would be controversial :beli:

OK why don't you suggest a better version of that lyric that will still reflect the duality :camellaugh: I'm listening

No, every 'explanation' was on some "the rest of the chorus clearly isn't c00n shyt" shyt...no one explained how THAT line isn't. Never in my life have I heard someone say I hope x doesn't happen, but if does, then fukk it, and mean that they never hoped x would happen at all. EVER.

oh my bad i didnt realize you were just stupid

Just so I'm not crazy, we all agree Skin can't really dirty a Tux. Therefor it's obvious it was a metaphor for a larger context and theme of what the song is about. The same waters they are riding are ones their ancestors were brought on slave ships on. To think that's a "Self Hating" line is a reach when you listen to the full song and what Frank and Jay is saying. I think the line is creative when looking how Black Skin is viewed not just in the U.S. but around the world. The song is deep. Pharrell killed the beat. "Oceans" is basically a Slavery/Oppression Allegory in song form.

if a black person walks into a club and they dj plays that song...would there be a metaphor/irony/similie/excuse/etc that follows the song?
