one of the best purchases ive ever madeOS and UI matter. This is beyond aesthetics.I'd even get a Thinkpad over a Macbook.

I'm sure it is, you probably have a special use for it.
I use my computer for word processing and browsing the internet. Otherwise a Macbook's a waste of money. That's why I laugh at people who only buy one for basic use.

I got a Macbook Pro a few months ago, upgraded to 8 GB of RAM and will be installing a SSD soon.

$1000 brand new, plus $100 for the RAM upgrade. Got the post-secondary school discount, so it wasn't too bad (still kind of expensive, but it's worth it imo)
I got Windows on mine but I'd rather fukk with Yosemite.

I don't think I've turned off my MacBook since 2011 and it still runs fine (except for battery).
