Literally changed my life lol. Left the federal govt after twelve years, got hired in May by a software dev company. Fully remote project manager…splitting my time between the project management office and the IT department. I’m getting invaluable experience that sets me up for even more rewarding positions in the future. My only regret is that I waited so long to do this lol

I want to get into this side of my field but it’s so specialized. Just not sure how seriously the industry would take me. PM’s are usually retired military

unless you’re stuck on DoD for some reason, you can always parlay your defense project management experience into any other industry with your PMP cert. I did exactly that. You just have to show that you’ve been involved in the PM world…as an project engineer, project manager etc.

And you can definitely stay in defense…you’ll be surprised at the interviews you’ll get once you put those three letters after your name.

Just finished the 90 question practice test and got a 58 :yeshrug:

Not mad at it. I know where I need to focus my attention (project management terminology) with the breakdown of where I'm weak. I think I can make up another 27 points minimum before the course is over. What were you scoring on the practice test before you felt comfortable enough to take the exam? @Idaeo

i was getting 90% before I felt ready but I could have taken it much earlier.
