Exactly - you have to think about what type of job you'll be able to get with your degree and what your potential salary will be.

The biggest mistake a lot of people make with respects to higher education is choosing the wrong field of study. Don't major in Humanities or Social Science. Major in Engineering, IT, stuff like that.

Just curious - do you work in IT?

I wouldn't say it is easy to get into IT. But oftentimes the biggest challenge is getting an entry level position without any actual experience. That is one if the reasons why so many people focus on getting certs.

its not that easy because IT will soon become over saturated like the other fields

You sound shiftless and irresponsible. You lack persistence and resolve. Any job is better than no job. And since you quit your job so early, the boss will think twice before giving a similar guy to you a second chance.

Good move, never work a job you despise, then you are a slave to the very definition. I mean, in the sense of the word, we're all slaves in a worse form than our ancestors. Our ancestors did slave work (physical labor in which propelled their health and kept them healthy longer than the immobile slave owners), and they were paid in housing/food/clothing/medical care etc. The difference now is that we HAVE to do more work because we have to choose how we spend our slave wages. I never support anyone doing a job for any reason other than the fact that they have passion for it. There's multiple ways to survive on this planet, doing a job you hate shouldn't be one of them. Negate the above if you have a child though, children come first because they are the carriers of our genetics.

Out here in my damn drawls

That assumes that everyone can excel in advanced maths, sciences, chemistry, physics or whatever. Alot of High schools do a really poor job in respect to Science and IT related fields. I'm about to graduate, but dat engineering struggle is real. A lot of smarter people than me did not make it :whew:. The only reason I really survived the shyt is because this was the only thing I was willing to come to school for and I had scholarships and grants that made college damn near free

I really don't think there's a "wrong" field of study. I mean, lots of people went to school for what the job market said was hot at the moment with those job statistics, then they graduated only to find out these jobs aren't there. I wouldn't recommend going to college unless you have a pretty good idea about what you want to do and learn trades in the meantime to search for stuff that sparks and interest
