I just realized that there are no black R&B groups anymore.

My wife said the exact same shyt when we were having our discussion.

It's funny because I've never shared my thoughts with her on how I feel Beyonce pretty much single handedly killed black R&B music.

I'd posted my thoughts on message boards for years, but I'd never had that discussion with my wife.

She went on this tangent on how because of Beyonce, every other black female R&B artist, that were her contemporaries years ago, has to release their albums in Europe now and how the music industry basically elevated her to this undeserving status while they killed the careers of every other black R&B act.

And now we have a bunch of white girls making R&B music that they call Pop.

I was so proud listening to her rant. :wow:
damn hate to agree with you. why do they keep pushing them as sex objects though when it is a black singer, i just want a good strong voice, too many female black rnb singers now with these higher pitched aaliyah-esque voices not doing it for me

It’s by design, breh.

Strong black singers are now immediately pushed to the R&B “throwback” stations, that only older black folks listen to.

Meanwhile you got white chicks like Adele and Demi Lavoto doing their best Aretha/Mariah impressions all over pop radio, so the general public will begin to think whites girls inherently are stronger singers over time.

Sounds crazy now, but wait another decade or so.

Cacs are masters of the long con.

I've come across people who haven't noticed this as well

I've lost count of how many times people give me the :ohhh: when i point this out.

and this is a problem. it's as simple as just paying attention to what's going on around you in life.

not even having an opinion on it, just slow down and observe.

Tyrese exposed this on social media around the time his last album dropped

He lost his mind later, but he was making good points about the current state of the music business

the music industry has never been this openly anti-black culture and racist. that may sound crazy but think about it

where are the black gospel, uplifting, soulful artists on the mainstream level? why are they being blocked and relegated to indie status?

There's no actual music in Black music hardly at all

None of the so called singers can actually sing. Bey has pipes but her lyrics are too dumb. I get mad when I listen to her (no one has ever referred to white people as having good hair. Niqqas that have straighter hair have "good hair". White people have white people hair. For her to even consider white people hair as good says black hair is bad... anyway)

None of the rappers actually believe in Hip Hop or take anytime writing.

I feel like this was on purpose so the kids wouldn't have any soul

Lack of diversity since she became big. Her music is mediocre and been pushed to being black music for all R&B. Her machine with Jays blocks others from coming up. Like a Nas or fab, loved by everyone but could easily fall off with the wrong publicity. Also lacks the old school r and b feel

Ok. I see where you're coming from.

I know the reason for female groups... it's the money these companies don't want to invest in from marketing, clothing, hair, just to see only 300,000 in sales

in 2018 you have to market a female group in a sexual, nasty, ratchet way on some porno shyt.. opposite of the en vogues and Swv's with class

no men groups cause nikkas are all about self and nikkas not looking to split say a million dollars or even if they make that cause of 360 deals

:whoa: SWV, who made the eatin' p*ssy song, and then the "I wanna fukk even tho' you got a girl" song?

Oh, we have become our parents... :heh:

But I know what you mean tho'. What's the last male R&B group to hit... Pretty Ricky, who were trash and that was like 13 yrs ago? :snoop: That's sad about R&B, honestly.

LOL at Beyoncé being the reason for the decline in R&B. Anything to make her look like the “bad guy”. *eyeroll* Her impact doesn’t have anything to do with other artists in making subpar music and being untalented. That’s on them.

Pretty much.

That shyt about her success being the reason others can't get their shyt off, is like... so WTF should she do, aim to be less successful? :mjlol: If it wasn't for Kanye, that'd be the simplest shyt I heard all week. How would it be her fault? That's like people who always got somebody else as the reason why they can't do this or that, but then you ask 'em what they're doin' to make themselves successful and they can't give you an answer.

Yea that makes no sense. She puts out her music and does her thing, but she ain’t putting out music every month. Why can’t during the time bey is out th spotlight can somebody come and get the love of the people?

Blaming jay and bey for blocking young artist is fukking stupid as shyt. Like for instance right now, jay is not the most popular rapper even with all his connections, Drake is. And jay status hasn’t done anything to stop more artist coming and getting they piece of the pie

fukk maroon 5 for jacking jamioquai's whole swag :pacspit:

But yeah I really miss the girl groups from the 90s :mjcry:

@tuckdog 702 is getting back together for a reunion tour. Take them to see that. I know they're an old act but my parents did the same with me when I was young when they took me to see Alexander O'Neal, cherelle, and Tina Marie. Low-key ended up being one of best concerts I ever went to.
