I just saw a spider

Your problem is that you didn't kill with prejudice. If you knew beforehand that this spider is going to bite you in your sleep, then you would make sure that spider would die with your first strike. You threw a shoe? You are a jive turkey. You get up as close as possible and directly hit the spider with something, like a shoe or magazine, but not throw something. You gave that spider a higher chance of survival. That's on you.

You then bring it to the door and gently place the rim of the cup on the ground So the spider doesn't fall and get hurt.
