That's the way it was in Nairobi you'd see signs saying girls hostel and shyt like that and they had some random student housing that was cheap too.

That being said I wouldn't want to see basic African accomodations.

You stay in a "mid priced" hotel for maybe 20 dollars a night and you'd find the reason why it's mid priced. shyt might have made mosquitos or actually be too cold, or too hot or the WiFi would be wack.

It just didn't make sense for what you'd get to pay less than 50 bucks a night in Africa and I still had shytty rooms occasionally at that price. I didn't get real cable till I stayed in Airbnb

The issue is that you guys are staying at hotels and Airbnb’s which are overpriced. You have to find apartments that are for long-term stay. In Ghana you can find a 3 bedroom house for rent for 1000 a year and it will be way more Luxurious than a hostel or mid-range hotel.

Your right but things are a changing. In Nigeria they have prop tech companies where you can pay monthly instead of yearly for apartments. And the apartment can go as low as 100 dollars a month and you get to check them out before renting
