Good looks bruh

Yea I've been looking and I've already noticed some places wanting monthly rent in those nicer places in US dollars thats damn near what I pay out here. I'm not lookin for the amenities that we have in America just tryna have a getaway for a little bit and I been wantin to travel but never have.

What do you recommend to check out over there?
How was the nightlife out there?

I plan on going to visitin Colombia this year too, most likely gonna hit up Cartegena:ahh: gotta learn some spanish tho
I haven't been if you can make it to Afrochella and/or be here by Xmas I was told that's almost the social-peak if you will. The Ghanaians and descendants return for the holidays.

Sandbox in Accra is absolutely stunning. I absolutely love that venue. They knocked it out the park as far as visuals are concerned. Italian Boy if you want to trick. Osu is ground zero for the nightlife. Bloom Bar was my spot and you will see nice sistahs (and foreigners) there. I swear on my baby sister I thought I saw a Latina from the States there. I arrived in late Feb before the lockdown and was a little disappointed.

I didn't voice an opinion here about hair pieces or wigs, other than to say that they are and used in most places where Black people live.
I partnered with somebody who sold beauty products and I've done papers about that industry. Black entertainers in America set global trends, and that's been the case for a while.
Actress Cicely Tyson helped spark a global natural movement in her hey day, perhaps the first one.
She was Nevisian American,.

The atrocities of colonialism and the fights against that would be more fresh in the collective memories of the average (insert nationality/ethnicity, than the slave trade, correct?
For example, you mentioned Elmina in modern day Ghana, what is the counterpart to that in Kenya as a remembrance of the Arab slave trade?
I assume that more people are aware of MauMau/Jomo Kenyatta era than the Era and details of the slave trade.

the theory about tariq flipping that makes the most sense is one that somebody put together, from having followed him in that time.
he tried to get dual citizenship from a country on the continent, and it didn't work out. My theory is that during the standard background check, his past caught up to him. He plays up his past association with violent gangs and pimps/human traffickers, so you do the math.
legal immigrants usually have to jump through all types of hoops to become residents and citizens of another country...and red flags will block you.
Tariq's past caught up to him, and instead of accepting that.......he pivoted into "they" and "us"."pan africanism is a one way street" and other juelzes to avoid accountability for his actions and why his file was denied/blocked.
In Kenya Mandela embarassed them by asking to meet May Mau leader Dedan Kimathi's wife and was doing bad.

Turned out that Jomo Kenyatta made a secret deal with the British and saw the May Maus as a threat so they were sidelined and damn near forgotten.

I get the context on my an African would feel the way they do I've read Kenyan textbooks there's almost nothing about the may maus or the English period. They don't see white people fukking them up they see Black people doing it.

The few African leaders who talk about colonialism and slavery end up dead. The biggest slave port in East Africa is bagamoyo in TZ like El Mina and Goree you can take a tour there. Frankly I don't understand why any Arabs are in East Africa Zanzibar was liberated in 1964. Like I said it's collective amnesia. They heard of 12 years a slave some people even asked me if I saw it.

When Idi Amin kicked out the Indians they seem to vaguely understand why but I never heard much reservation to Indians owning all the media and a lot of the businesses. They look at them as locals and to be real unless the Indians were lying they felt "African" too.

If Tariq was willing to blow a bag he could be a citizen of any country. I don't know why they just don't charge for a right of return citizenship but if you talked to anyone in government you can get citizenship. I managed to get residency in TZ and Nyrere gave it to a group of Jamaicans back in the day there's people looking into getting it for every non African born Black person. If Tariq wanted citizenship he could get it.

I am not a fan of someone going or relocating to anywhere without doing their homework first and careful planning.
True but nothing beats boots on the ground experience for example they didn't have many blackouts in TX but thats because they used tokens in Dar meaning you paid as you go you buy electricity and crank up your A/C and your shot would get shut off on the middle of the night or when you least expected it then youd have to run to find a spot where you could buy more electricity quick. It was like buying gas for a car. But on the other hand you were more careful with the A/C

You might've seen a Latina there on vacation or NGO worker. Or even a returnee. There's black Brazilians in Nigeria and I knew a Cuban chick who was heavy into Santeria especially Yamaya and she wanted to move to Nigeria.

I saw two half Asian Chi ks in a club in Nairobi they told me they were born in Kenya and they were hoing.

I agree, I don't have any "boots on the ground" like some people on this site but I can learn from the mistakes OP made along with the gems @bdizzle dropped :ehh: Plus I am doing my own research Ghana was on my list so trying to see his experience.

Just read the whole thread :laff::laff::laff:

nikka killed the idea of going back home to big chocolate booties, big love from the locals & big business moves with one post
This is just a critique. I can't tell you that you won't find all of that there and more but that's what I thought until I saw the reality.

For example, most of us from big and major cities are used to seeing homeless people and bums ask for money but one thing that caught me by surprise is there you will see normal, able-bodied men who will be somewhere and who pick up on your American accent then will start a conversation with you all fine and dandy only to ask you for money. These guys are not trying to pick you up or I try to rob you or finesse you or anything like that but because they hear your American accent, they think you are stranger would give them money. These dudes will notice you if you frequent a place will come talk to you trying to befriend you only for you to buy them drinks. I'm not talking about bumming a cigarette off of you— no I'm talking about buy this drink for me bro. You would think women would do that, right? Not in Ghana. Help make sense of that.
