was a good video,
but the original song was better than that 1 in my opinion

The Original "Crossroads" is Classic just like the "Remix" was. Also if you had the original "E. 1999" then the new Crossroads wasn't on there, just this version. The famous version was only added to reprints of "E.1999" and it was on the single of course. It was a "One more Chance" situation like Biggie where the Remix took off the original isn't as well remembered. But I love the original it was dope as hell. But there is no way it's better than the remix cause the remix just touched so many souls and lives around the world. It one of Hip Hop best singles ever. Also the original version is just called "Crossroad" thus the remix adding the "S" at the end. With that said anyone who likes the original, I'm not mad at them cause that's how I was introduced to the song. But the only reason Mariah Carey's "Breakdown" was a hit was cause it used the same Crossroad remix sample and bone killed it:

True but there's no denying the remix had more impact, it's the biggest hit of Bone's career, got them their 1st Grammy and propelled the album. Again as I said, I'm not mad at anyone who liked the original better cause that's how I was introduced to the song. Again both are Classics.

They should have dropped the OG as a single and then followed it up with the remix, shyt would have been even bigger. A lot of people don't even realize that there was an OG version of that song because it got to the point where Ruthless took the OG version off the album and replaced it with the remix. They ain't even bother to put it on there as a bonus cut or nothing just said fukk it and threw it in the bushes...smh.

That's what I mean, the remix took off to the point the OG got drowned out. I actually think they harmonized better on the OG than the Remix. But yes it was a business decision. The same thing happen with Lil Kim's "Crush on You", the remix took off even though on the album she wasn't even on the original song it was just Lil Cease.

the original is a soul-toucher too tho. especially krayzie & bizzy's verses.

i guess the visuals take things to the next level because it kinda hit hard when they played it on "new york undercover". lol.

but man, i didnt know that they flipped the same sample as tha crossroads. i never noticed.

and youre right, this was basically another bone record. and they gave mariah a new style and she kept running with it from then on out. Usher ran with it too, but that chump aint never pay homage. then alot of other people came thru and did the same thing. they basically altered the backdrop of black radio, even to what it is today. and they dont get credit for it. reverend run broke it down perfectly right here:

Exactly, Bone hasn't truly gotten their historical credit for changing the game.

Anyone else feel this song is that ''classic but corny white peoples favorite hiphop songs'' ? kinda like gangstas paradise

I feel you but "Crossroads" and "Gangstas Paradise' are still great songs despite White America grabbing hold of them. I do get annoyed when bandwagon Bone fans only bring up "Crossroads" and "Notorious Thugs" as their favorite Bone songs.

the difference being that white america took more of a liking to "gangsta paradise" than black america did.

not saying that black america doesnt see gangstas paradise as a classic. its just that white people hold it on a higher pedestal than we do.

tha crossroads is held on the same pedestal by all races. it files under the same category as songs like "gin & juice" & "nuthin but a g thang".

not a knock on the homie coolio, but comparing tha crossroads to gangstas paradise is an insult to tha crossroads.

a bone joint that better compares to gangstas paradise would be something like "if i could teach the world". i mean, gangsta's paradise was way better than that, but thats an example.
