Hold up, for all you dudes talking about revisionist history - explain this image from the documentary WHITNEY (on HULU now) :stopitslime::

but here she talks about it go to 7:22 (it won't let me time stamp)

but in the documentary, she said this bothered her a lot, her own AUNT said it and Bobby said it

A lot of people forget her FIRST ever song was "How will I know" that was 2 years before "I wanna dance w/somebody" these were white pop songs, not R&B at all.

The kirk to the fields
It ain’t got nothing to do with looks at all. At the time Whitney was one of the biggest stars in the world. Vanessa Williams wasn’t on that level
I get it now. It's more of a style of music thing.

Is it kind of like how black people hate Kevin Hart now?

:dead: I'll take anyone who's from that era's word for it.

I just wanted to know because sometimes dudes have this weird "black people are out to get me!!" shyt they like to force into everything.

But I believe you. What made people change their minds about her?

the music, by her 3rd album she was being produced by babyface and LA reid, dropping songs like My Name is not Susan a complete departure from her earlier songs

and her being married to bobby brown didn't hurt.

Wasn’t Fat Al on the mafias payroll during this time period? The Tariq of the 80s
