They wanted to hire me but they switch my work location all the way out to Hanover MD at the last minute (there hour drive from my place and it is a hick town) because their location in DC was already at full capacity by time they interview me and to top it all off they wanted me to do night shift so I declined their offer.

I still have IT recruiters hitting me up but I haven’t found anything I want yet.
It’s help desk.. you could’ve did that shyt at home

Also they didn’t even really ask me too much technical questions. The questions was basically pertaining to customer service which was super easy cuz I use to work retail for three years while I was in college.
Thats basically what helpdesk is

Yeah you might have to do basic technical shyt, but usually it’s virtual and remote desktop type work.

You don’t need to sit in an office for 8 hours just to do that… especially if they changed it to where it’s a 3 hour commute.

All you really going to be doing is taking calls and requests from customers and if you can’t fix their shyt, then forward their requests to people who can.

You’re basically first line of defense and ticket trafficking

The shyt is so simple breh but before I lied on my resume literally every tier 1 help desk job that I interviewed for wanted 1 to 2 years of experience, they even listed that as the reason why they didn’t hire me despite me having an A+ cert and years of customer service experience. I don’t know if is because I’m in a competitive region which allow the employers be hella picky or if it is something else. :mjpls:

Sound like it’s entry level, fake it til you make it. Pay attention to everything and try to find somebody whose been there for a while to “mentor” you.

It’s people in way higher positions lying on they resume and being under qualified

So after 3 months of applying for help desk positions with no results I decided to lie and add 1 year of experience to my resume (all I have is my A+ cert and a home lab where I installed Virtual box and Windows Server 2019 and messed around with Active Directory and such) it worked and within a few days I got offered a interview with a small IT company where I will be assigned the role of help desk support tier 1.

The problem is I obviously have no actual help desk experience at all. I know it’s a terrible thing to lie but I was getting frustrated with being passed over due to no experience and how could I get experience when no one would hire me? :francis:

If you would had @Rell84shots @8WON6 @surf as your 3 references

You would’ve been fine:francis:
