This isn't a high level job. The only thing you need to work the helpdesk is a pulse.

OP, all you need to do is google 'Helpdesk' interview questions, memorize at least 15 of them and you're good.

I lied on my resume when I got my first IT job. If I didn't I probably would've never actually got one.
Nice. :salute:

You'll be fine. Helpdesk is slightly overrated, it's a good entry to move on very quickly. As KingTut says search up some questions and memorise.

If you get it, you'll be familiar with all the systems and AD very quickly (then next interview you can bullshyt further trust me on this lmao). AD is easy as shyt. Get your real experience and move on. Level 1/Tier 1 helpdesk shouldn't be a long-term job if we're keeping it real. Should be on level 2/tier 2 within a year.

As you keep learning you can probably can think of specializing on what you find easy or passionate about. Thats the real money.

You got this breh… :salute:

I lied on my resume to get my last job then somehow got a mid-level cybersecurity analyst position with 0 years of experience. :mjlol:
IT is a minefield fr. So many people don't have basic IT skills or understanding in mad positions. :mjlol:

They get random managers who can't feel the BS to interview people too, because they're bullshytting too. :blessed:

So after 3 months of applying for help desk positions with no results I decided to lie and add 1 year of experience to my resume (all I have is my A+ cert and a home lab where I installed Virtual box and Windows Server 2019 and messed around with Active Directory and such) it worked and within a few days I got offered a interview with a small IT company where I will be assigned the role of help desk support tier 1.

The problem is I obviously have no actual help desk experience at all. I know it’s a terrible thing to lie but I was getting frustrated with being passed over due to no experience and how could I get experience when no one would hire me? :francis:
:yeshrug:I got my first tech job 11 years ago doing the samething, LYING on my resume. Of course all I did was change all my previous customer service and data entry jobs to Tech Support jobs. I also added dates to my resume that were a year longer than I actually stayed.

They did the background check on me HOWEVER I was already two weeks deep in the job when it came back janky. HR wanted proof that I was employed as long as I stated. So with my back to the wall and HR threatening to fire me if I didn't produce documents (I stalled for like a week and a half). I went online grabbed a W2 template, downloaded Adobe PDF Professional from a Torrent site. ANd modified the W-2 using info from my REAL W2 from the company and modifying the employment dates. Then I printed them out crumbled them up and copied them again at Kinkos to make it look like some old lost ass documents that got caught in the shuffle.

Submitted it to HR and was thinking I was gonna get fired. It was never mentioned again and I was at that job for 7 years. I assumed HR didn't want to waste $$ running a 2nd background check on me and just put the W2's I gave them on file for protocol. I can laugh cuz its over and done with but nikka that whole 2 weeks was just :damn::mjcry: cuz I had no money,no savings and ran out of unemployment I NEEDED that job.

But best believe company policy changed after me, Background check mustg be FULLY verified before the 1st day you start. I had future cowokers delay starting cuz their background wasn't completed.

Just watch some YT vids on what they are asking for in the job description

Assuming this is a Tier I gig, most of what you need to know is going to be processes & procedures, which they'll teach you on the job
