Kanye freestyles of the top better than most of your favorite rappers. Just cause he might spit a Rhymefest verse once a decade or bounce ideas with Kudi doesn't mean that he's puff. He's just open with what most rappers do.

And he loves to fukk with fresh people to get some fresh ideas and blend seemingly non-matching styles, whethers it's Travis Scott, Desiigner, GLC, Malik Yusef, Nicki Minaj
or Ross. And that's what he's been doing, one of his biggest strengths is blending worlds and making it sound dope and natural.

Don't forget that he came in as a rapper. But the production was what took off first.

They comparable as far as being hustlers and moguls. But in terms of artistry, not even. Funny to even compare the 2 in that regard

You obviously weren't paying attention to Jay jackin Diddys whole production style for Vol 1.

Diddy pushed that flashy , braggadocio , materialistic style to the max. Jay ( along with many others ) followed Diddys materialistic blueprint all the way.

thats not true...

he understands rhythm and has an ear for music..

Beatmaking and actually fully understanding how to make a song hot is 2 different monsters

Bruh, just stop.

Him and Suge have the same ear for music, don't make them musicians.

This ain't the 90s, we know the role of an executive producer now.

Yes , Kanye gets help but he makes sure everything has a distinct YEness to it and changed the culture in ways that diddy cant. Kanye is 39 but has people who are young enough to be his child emulating him.

I think you talking bout 1 thing and I'm talking bout something else

I'm saying as far as an ARTIST. I'm talking about their TALENT or LACK THERE OF! I know what you saying but to compare Puffy and Jay Z is comical outside of their hustle.

Yeah, I know Jay reached out to Puffy and The Hitmen for their sound. That's why Vol. 1 was a flop. Jay was trying to run with the Bad Boy sound

Let's just stick to the topic. Kanye and Puff. This is going all off topic

Kanye is an updated Puffy because he does actually know HOW TO work the the boards and produce a beat. Puffy don't know a damn thing bout an mpc or a drum machine lol. But Puffy knew what sounded good and did Kanye. Both have a shyt load of writers and producers who help them craft their ideas and where they want to go with the music. The real "genius" with the both of them is knowing who to reach out to to help them get their ideas out

Kanye was only as good as the soul samples he sampled and when he was ready to stretch out his sound, what did he do? He sought out producers and writers to help him expand his music.

I will say 1 thing, Kanye can actually write however he's not a very good writer at all and has always relied on others for help. Puffy probably has never wrote a damn line in his life lol

How could Jay jack Puffs style when Puff and the Hitmen were the producers? And it was about 5-6 songs not the whole album.

As far as swag went Jay was on the exact same shyt in 96.

Both rely on a bunch of co-writers and of producers who actually make their music while they play conductor. Both are very self conscious about their clothes and about clothes period
Ego manics
Tempers

Naw, I'd like Puffy's like Ye's musical father lol

When Kanye started his career he didn't have none of that doe

The same way Cube jacked PE's style for his 1st album.

And are we talking swag or artistry like op said?

Cuz artistically jay and Puffy both rap about materialism and braggadocio.

OP got these posters mad early :mjlol: The comparison is on point.

Most of y'all would be rushing in and dapping OP if he said "I look at Kanye as Rakim version 2.0" despite that not being true in the slightest. Just because Diddy has a negative connotation for not being a true artist, y'all wanna get furio  Can't get mad at the truth :myman:

Yup, they mad and I don't give 1 single fukk :pachaha:

The funny thing is, I'm a fan of Kanye's music pre The Life of Pablo, so I just call it like I see/hear it :manny:
