Compare album credits from any album Kanye has produced since Graduation and they look similar to Diddy's credits on Bad Boy albums. There's multiple producers on the same track and a lot of times Kanye isn't the one making the beat. I think there's a thread on here where a poster posted Kanye thanking Emile for the beat for "Runaway".

So thats basically the only thing u have stand on

Kanye's music falls in an the alternative category Diddy s doesn't.

Kanyes rep doesn't include making major business moves outside of hip-hop like Jay and Puff

Jay and Diddy are the leaders of their crew Kanye is a crew member.

Jay and Diddys braggadocio materialistic lyrical style are the same were Kanye is materialistic as well but he can go left and make songs about different shyt.

But how can he jack Puffs production if it's Puff producing the music though.

It's like saying Eminem jacked Dr. Dre's production, Raekwon jacked Rza's and on. Vol 1 doesn't even sound the same as No Way Out, in any possible way. Those dudes have not got distinct styles like a Dj Mustard.

Vol 1 doesn't sound like no Way Out with all those 80's samples sound all overr both projects? :what:

I'm done.

You could put Diddy's Press Play and Last Train To Paris in the alternative category

Kanye had the Yeezy's and is trying to launch a high end fashion line

Kanye has G.O.O.D. Music, so yeah he's a leader of his crew in that regard

Kanye's still as materialistic as they are though

Now u reaching.

You really comparing Yeezys to the impact of Rocawear and sean john?:what::camby:

Kanye is the leader of nothing,,he came in the game on Jay and Dames back. Jay is the leader. Don't bring up the perks Kanye got all after the fact cuz it makes u look like u reaching.

No one's saying that everything matches up. There are several parallels between Puff and Kanye as artists and more specifically as producers.

I think the vision of puff will never be matched in hiphop ever again.

He was a mastermind. After 2002 he left his orginal style tho...Ill never understand that.

Kanye is worse because he's looked at as some musical genius... and he's been just as horrid as Diddy on the mic at times.

Kanye is one of the greatest producers of All-Time...

Yeah, he had other minds with him in the studio once he changed his style but are we gonna act like Kanye didn't produce nothing but classics dolo for years?

As an MC he has many characteristics that make him dope. Kanye rocks shows, has vocal talent, charisma, wit, can mix and mesh styles with anyone. Kanye hung with Common live in a battle how many MC's can do that. Don't fool ya self because he has ghostwritten material.

But is he an upgrade version of Diddy? Op says he is, I dont see it. If anything Kanye is Hip-hops version of Prince. Diddy is Quincy Jones.

As a producer, Kanye isn't more like Dre. Dre has never had five or more producers on one track for an entire album until Compton. Everything else has been Dre and 1 or two more producers (not including musicians or session players). Kanye, like Puff, has had an entire team of producers working on one track (and again, I'm not talking about musicians or session players).

Kanye is not a better rapper than Dre. Dre has more presence and a far better delivery than Kanye. Those are two things Kanye is weak at. The only thing Ye has over Dre is that he's probably written more of his own verses than Dre has.

That's because he didn't. Kanye's classics didn't come until Blueprint and up to Late Registration. That's his era of solo classics. Everything during that period wasn't classic. Even then he had his weaknesses which were his drums. Beginning with Late Registration, he started to become less hands on with the production.
