its not that people hate change its just how those changes are implemented
people want the series to grow, the complaints about changing was more about every zelda game other than majoras mask, being a remake of the one before it.
how many times do we have to save zelda from ganon by collecting the artifacts?, and the awnser to that was to tell how it got that way, but its done in the worst possible way, the story is there now but why does it have to boil down to a fetch quest? not even a important and epic fetch quest, just really stupid and really silly fetch quest.
instead of playing hide and seek, why couldnt we have to save a town?
instead of feed a fish god, why couldnt we have to banish a evil sprit to resurrect the god?
how come they couldnt make link look like a hero instead of a errand boy?
or if they gotta have fetch quest, why do they have to be so silly and pointless?
how come it feels like the world of zelda consist of like 8 people?
why does it feel like the lands arnt even part of the same world, just merely obstacles courses set in place as a means to waste time intil you reach a dungeon?
the presentation is just ass breh admit it
the answer to all the bolded is because we did all that already in TP.
as far as fetch quests, all action adventure games have fetch quests that are essential to the game and fetch quest that are non-essential side stories. there is nothing wrong with having fetch quests in a Zelda game.
as far as the presentation, i agree that it was colorful and cartoonish, and i prefered the dark realistism of TP, but i understand that this was a different game. i also have already said it felt boxed in and the lack of free-roam between areas was a downside and agree it would have been nice to have some towns, however the areas themselves were massive and full of things to do. there was more action/puzzles in this than any other Zelda game. instead of limiting the action to dungeons the action took place throughout each area.
if Skyward Sword had a free-roam section connecting the 3 main areas it would have been better, no doubt. but as far as what took place in each area, i cant fault them on the gameplay there or area design, because they did a great job in those aspects.
i have enjoyed all the Zelda games because they always bring a high level of gameplay. if SS or TP were the exact same game but were not based around Link, Zelda and Ganon or Hyrule but instead followed some unrelated characters i think people would be able to appreciate them for what they are instead of judging them for what they are not. i take every Zelda game as a new game loosely based around these three main characters. maybe sequals would be better so that they could build on the story instead of creating a new story with each game.
