I quit my job today. Best decision I’ve ever made

When i knew i was leaving and i started eating peoples food….like they would get deli food sent for 30 people id eat 2….take 2 home….drink people soda….hot pockets…smash ur lunch bag….would sleep for 2 hours n set my alarm

started taking huge shyts in the toilet and leaving it in the bowl for these cacs can inhale it as soon as they walk in

You ever hate a job so bad you pulled up in the parking lot for work and literally cried in your car?


I was a grown ass, 32 year old man working a 4:30am to 2pm shift.


I got to work about 10 minutes early, sat there for a minute and put my head on my steering wheel and just started sobbing...like someone close to me just died type sobbing.


So yeah...I've most definitely been there my brother.

Thats the only thing that I'm having second thoughts about.

I can maybe go back and manage to resign without any repercussions but then I think I dont have anything lined up.

And I dont care what anyone says, you are more desirable and have a better chance of finding a new job if you are already working somewhere.

I have 3 months savings. The damage this job was doing to my mental health was not worth me staying. I’m confident I’ll find a job very soon in less than three months.

I would never recommend brehs make rash decisions but your mental and/or physical health comes first. Because what you'll come to realize is these companies do not give a shyt about you. You know better than anyone what your situation is so if you were able to afford this, more power to you. Trust me, I've been there. I've had to take LoAs at a job before it got so bad...stressed as all hell, hair falling out and shyt like that. Use this time to reflect, breathe and take your skills elsewhere.

yeah I've seen men and women go through the hair loss due to job stress. They lose patches, and it comes back once they leave the "stressor"

Plus you don't have to let them know you quit, it's the last place you worked so you can act like you dont want your "current employer" to know you're looking.

Been there. I used to have a gospel playlist before going in that I had to rock and I'm not even religious. Plus, shyt like, "oooh child" and donny hathaway's "one day we'll all be free" .

if you have a non touch dedicated route,can avoid NYC and got a cool dispatcher being a truck driver is not a stressful job as a black man you just gotta worry about hating azz cacs unlocking your fifth wheel or doing some other goofy shyt but beside that I love being a trucker i drive nights so it's even better

Savings definitely gives you space to breathe.

But if someone doesnt have any savings or less savings then being unemployed puts them in a considerable disadvantage when job hunting.

For example, you could find yourself in a position where you might have a good interview but because you are unemployed, you dont have any power to negotiate a top end salary for yourself and might have to just accept what's offered.

I quit my last job without having another one lined up. Took about a month off to recharge from extreme burnout.


The job search was almost as stressful as the shyt job I left behind. So many poorly run toxic companies out there who lie about remote work, pay, benefits etc. Just to get someone new in the door.


Be careful you don't end up in an even worse situation by making sure to properly vet these companies.
