I quit my job today. Best decision I’ve ever made

Was there, too. Bounced and never looked back. fukk what society expects from you and prestige from certain education levels and careers, your mental health comes first.

My 2nd job while I was in High School was like that. Had no car, public transportation access was almost non existent (working on weekends), taxi fare was expensive, and the work was confusing and hard when no one trained you and had to "figure it out for yourself" when it paid only $1.50 above minimum wage. Did that for 5 grueling months, quit, and never went back the next year when they were asking me to do MORE hours and had no access to get there. Found another job, and my pay went wayyyyy up, easier to access to by public transportation, and very flexible hours.

always have savings you can fall back on, I say a year worth of rent and living expenses for emergency cases or situation like this.
one thing I never tolerated was stress, any signs of it and I am out.

I wanna quit my job and go back to school

I dropped out of college and worked a few jobs for a while. Until I got a job I hated so bad it made me go back and finish my degree. I’m grateful for that miserable time of my life because finishing school opened many doors for me. I needed that hate to motivate my ass to even go sign up and speak to the academic advisors again.

You know your job sucks when as soon as you get in work at 8am you’re constantly checking the clock for 5pm. This is possibly the worst job I’ve ever had in my life. This job was seriously making me depressed and even suicidal and I knew I had to leave for my mental health. I now feel good as fukk, gonna take the rest of the week off, prepare my resume and get back on the hunt next week Monday. This job sucked so much I couldn’t even do the usual 2 week notice cos no way I could spend another day here. Thank fukk for that

I was a grown ass, 32 year old man working a 4:30am to 2pm shift.


I got to work about 10 minutes early, sat there for a minute and put my head on my steering wheel and just started sobbing...like someone close to me just died type sobbing.


So yeah...I've most definitely been there my brother.

Wasn’t me breh. I made a thread about being jealous of people working from home but I wasn’t one of them. And I left that job a long time ago. That was a good job.

I stayed almost quitting once a week, snapping on my managers and shyt

The day I left that piece of bullshyt job I honestly felt 100s of lbs lighter. Its like a switch flipped and I was happy again

It was tedious, monotonous, below my capabilities, terrible co workers, terrible salary, long hours, boring,long commute.…just everything about the job just sucked and I hated being there.

Breh, didn't you say you were bipolar? I can only imagine how stress inducing a job interview plus having to deal with new co-workers can be. I'm not trying to infer that people should stay at a miserable ass job but the unknown can be daunting.

What engineering background do you have? Chemical, Electrical?
