TDE a bunch of below average artists that had one below average rapper blow because of his affiliation to Dre and having the right baby face. Nothing special about any of them from day one.

So all this is not surprising.

I never understood why TDE was always perceived as some dope ass label to be at.

they got a cool collection of artists and producers. i will say TDE lets each of their artists do them...not try to fit some mold, but in the course of "doing you" you, got to wait 2 years between projects

2015: 2 releases
2016: 3 releases so far

I think that's pretty good, most labels can't even stack up to that

when i think of this camp, the issue isn't retail releases, it's the fact they don't do mixtapes/ep's, don't really let their artists do many interviews if they're not on their "album cycle", they (outside of k dot and q) don't do many features outside their camp/high visibility features (don't know if this is driven by the artists or the label). like i said in another thread about TDE, these cats don't have to be curren$y with the output, but it's fact that today's attention spans are much shorter, the artists on TDE need to be a shorter cycles and have more visibility.

One thing about OVO is everybody gets a release. But the model over there is no big push, relying on fans to organically spread word and social media etc (Like worked for Bryson and Weeknd.) Am I right in saying everybody on OVO has dropped a project this year pretty much?

TDE is good but it's kinda closer to the traditional rapper label. It's hard for them to manage a singer. G Unit flopped with Olivia but I feel like SZA will end up doing well on TDE
