My uncle and cousin were/are firefighters. My neighbor was one.


Had a fire drill at work the other week and black firefighters came out.

That’s not true at all. My Dad retired after 30+ years and literally never has to work another day in his life. They work 8 days a month. Most work other jobs or side gigs because they have so much free time.

Its dudes I work with who are nurses, electricians, property managers, college instructors etc on the side. Next month I work 6 days But I’m going out the country

All of the cats I work with who got 10+ Years on are pulling in 90k+ and I’m not even talking OT

i don’t wanna glamorize it, you see some terrible stuff. But other days are super chill. Going to block parties, talking to kids at school, helping folk I love it

My friend is black (Haitian) and is a firefighter here in NY. There was a time where firefighters were straight up Irish but they have been diversifying now.


I remember back in the days sanitation workers use to be mostly Italian too. Lots of black folks doing that now too

I been contemplating getting my med license. I hate being on the ambulance but most places nationwide require you to be a paramedic
