this is the problem with the kids who listen to hip hop today they think its all entertainment like big action movies.

Like i have said before.

The big blockbuster movies (albums) with the big name cast (features) and big producers and directors (producers) and the big company (label) backing them and spending millions of dollars promoting and marketing are gonna sell and be heard and be in the mainstream and 80% of that is all fantasy make believe and not real music and films aimed at a certain audience.

The smaller independent films (albums) with a lesser known cast (features) and no name producers and directors (producers) and a small company (label) backing them can't afford the same kind of money so its not gonna sell as much and be heard by people and this stuff is usually more realistic down to life what real people can relate to.

But does that mean the product is not as good and less entertaining and people shouldn't like it because its not what your meant to like.

But people don't want to listen or watch things about real life they can relate to they wanna see car chases and 1 man people killing 10 people and million dollar drug deals and beautiful woman they could never pull.

Don't mind me just sitting here smoking a joint rambling about shyt.

I find IT entertaining, but like someone else said you can really only listen to him in small doses.

I think his music can be entertaining and listened to. But you have to listen to him in moderation because trying to use big words/always making political rap gets annoying.

I like a lot of the beats he uses though - especially on Vol 2. I agree that he does sometimes have stuff that's too noisy though.

You think a beat like this is sloppy?

see this is actually pretty decent for him and probably as best as he can do.

Op couldn't be more wrong. I listen to nothing but hip hop and IT is an emcee I still check for. He's dope on the mic regardless of the content. He's not for everyone And rap isn't all about ignorant lyrics and imagery. There Are deeper themes and genres as we all should know.

who said it had to be ignorant?

Did you not read the thread title???

I'm saying that just cause you wanna talk that talk, doesn't mean it makes the best music.

Dudes who understand how to make MUSIC will ALWAYS succeed over those who don't.

Why can't he make better SOUNDING content?

Thats my point.

Lupe could do it and HAS done it. His songs were great not only because of content, but cause he made it sound INCREDIBLE.

You think Immortal Tech could make "American Terrorist?"

No ones saying he makes the best music.

So u met a couple of white boys I'm assuming who said he was the best emcee ever or some shyt?

U said anyone who likes his music doesn't like rap, but that's just a dumb statement. U a smart dude but u don't seem smart saying shyt like that.

They're two different personalities when it comes to conveying their message even though they have similar themes and beliefs. Immortal is more hard core/battle rap influenced. He speaks without a filter and is more direct in his delivery. Lupe is more metaphorical driven IMO. American terrorist is a dope track but so is leaving the past. Homicide Harlem, dance with the devil etc. I don't see Lupe dropping a track with that venom like tech does. Its all preference on how u wanna hear that message.

Lol...actually I think u r referring to Cormega. Probably just Nas nuts still stuck in his mouth.

Mega too but he makes up for it, you give him enough space within a beat he can rock it to sleep poetically, I'd actually listenin him more than Nas if he wasn't such a mush mouth.

Lupe is on a major and always battling with Atlantic over his records. It's his style just because it doesn't appeal to you doesn't mean it it ain't good.it's just your taste for something else.....

I didn't even like Immortal Technique till I heard his 3rd World joint.......

He's a good person, heart's in the right place most of the time. I obviously don't agree with all his viewpoints, but he's still a dude I don't mind hearing from.

That being said, he is a horrible rapper most of the time. His flow and rhythm are horrible for most tracks. He's been offbeat countless times. I can't respect him for his lack of skill simply because I might agree with what he is saying. Go be a spoken word poet but don't try to act like you're flowing.
