I, Robot or I Am Legend?

In the book, Will Smith's character goes around during the day slaughtering "vampires" while they sleep and you find out at the end that these people weren't really vampires at all, and had managed to live with the virus and even maintain some semblance of a society whose only real threat was this maniac going around killing innocent people during the day. He ends up being the "Legend" in question...like the Boogeyman. He's arrested and put to death for his crimes.

I used to love I am legend but watched it for the first time in yeeears the other day... shyt was kinda ass in the second half and that ending is terrible
