I LIVE IN A CARDBOARD BOX!
As a fan of Batman: TAS growing up, this story made me smile.

I was driving to work listening to Star & Buckwild. Remember Star talking about he thinks he saw a plane fly into the WTC. then another.

the rest of the drive to work was just oh shyt.... then got to work and they had the TV on... then buildings fell....

I worked R&D for a fire alarm company and I remember us being excited the inquiry tone could be heard and saying that was ours..

the drive home was hell... left around 3 got home about 7 for what is a 45 minute drive.

remember mother-in-law and others had to walk home. across bridges and etc..

no TV ... no cell service unless you had cable or satellite cause antennas was on top of towers

Yo me too. Was just thinking this earlier

Edit- remember parents giving us the news before leaving for school. Smoked a bowl or joint before the bus came like I always did, got to first period and teacher had wheeled in a TV in so we could watch events unfold

I was attending an HBCU that shall go unnamed, and they acted like it wasn't a big deal at all. bytches complaining about missing their soaps, classes still going on and everything.

Professor said that we need to let the govt worry about that and we need to worry about our classwork :gucci:

I’m sorry but :mjlol::mjlol::dead:

Walked out the shower and turned on the TV to the Today show as I was getting ready for school which was my ritual every morning during my junior and senior year in high school and saw them reporting on the first plane hitting. I was like damn that's crazy and continued dressing for school. I was thinking it was an accident. I drove to school bumping Kiss The Game Goodbye so really had no idea what was going on and when I got to school everyone was like :mjcry: . I was like why everyone so sad and shyt. I still had no clue what was going on and that the second plane had hit. Second period our principal got on the PA system and said America was under attack. The whole day I was like America had to do something to make someone do something like that. One classmate, fine ass chick who would later go on to be the main chick in the "Halle Berry" music video was like, "if Clinton was president this wouldn't have happened!"

I really don't remember the rest of the school day until I left school at 2pm. I turned on the radio and on the local rap/r&b station they were like "we're all Americans now" blah blah.

I came home from school and my stepdad and stepuncle who were in the NOI, were outside talking to some neighbors and they were basically like it's fukked up but America isn't innocent. They weren't happy and they weren't sad or angry but just :yeshrug:. My mom came home from work and was distraught about it but for the most part I was kind of indifferent about it during that period.

I spent the rest of the day playing No Mercy for N64 until Smackdown came on and then went to bed.

Crazy how people dont care about 9/11 like in years past.

I mean we do have a generation of adults now who dont even remember the WTC or 9/11...that are legit fighting the same illegal wars for this country that we got into frok that day almost 20 years ago.

I kind of dont even like revisiting that day. My cousin worked on the 81st floor of tower one...she was taking the train in from New Jersey and she was late...the train stopped as soon as the first plane hit

I remember way too much from that day and afterwards. visiting a synagogue beforehand on a class trip...one of thw rabbis told us that a plane had hit one of the towers of the WTC. I was listening to Howard Stern in the morning and him and Robyn Quivers were talking about it. It wasnt until we came back to our high school after the trip that we turned on the TV and saw what had happened....truly terrifying. Had friends called to the military bases that day. Deadass we thought the world was about to end.

The next day...seeing malls and businesses empty...seeing Americans immediately just viewing muslims, indians, anybody that looked middle eastern with extreme prejudice...shyt didnt even seem real. Watching TV for the next couple of weeks/months and it was just pictures of people who died in the rubble with their obituaries. I stopped watching TV after a while cause it was so sad and too hard to watch.

If it wasn't for the ongoing mess in the middle east I think there wouldn't be much talk of 9/11 anymore. If America had "won" in Iraq and Afghanistan and troops would have been gone by no later than 2006 most Americans would be like :yeshrug:
