I think Common's discography is equal to or greater than 95 percent of rappers

Simple. Common just didn't really transcend the culture. I liken him to an Alicia Keys, she's also one of those dope artists that a decade from now might get lost in the shuffle.
This. Common has a top tier discography and some great albums some you could even argue are classics from strictly a music standpoint but none of them had a enough impact on the culture

I think it's pretty overblown and corny. People don't get just how RAW Common was on his first 2 albums. I smelled the falloff on album 3. I did really like album 4 because that was the height of Jay Dee/Dilla mania and he was on fire but everything post that....particularly the neutered stuff with Kanye was really marginal.

I did enjoy the last album but it's too late for me to start caring all that much. He's a lot like Nas to me. Legend. Has classics. Ultimately a cornball.

I was discussing LWFC with my brother over the weekend, he said he wasn't feeling it either. You might have to take a listen to that again. Thelonious, The Light, 6th Sense, Nag Champa, the Question, it's a ton of great songs on that album. I don't think Kanye gets enough credit for saving his career though, Be & Finding Forever are classics, they stand the test of time.

I can't get into it either. I bought it the first day it came out and that ish still looks new. It was too hippy-esque to me. I like Doin It, 6th Sense...that's all I can think of right now. I'll probably revisit it but I just can't enjoy.

Can I Borrow a Dollar is okay, but nothin special. Soul by the Pound will ALWAYS be my ish. So you have Resurrection, One Day, Be, Finding Forever and Dreamer/Believer. I think he has put out some great albums, some very average albums, and BE is his only spectacular album.
