This. Every time I consider getting an Xbox even with the crazy deals they get I talk myself out of it because of the lack of exclusives. The only game I was hyped for on the green side was Scalebound but that got killed during E3. So until Xbox bring exclusives I can get down with I'll play all the games on Sony.
Scorpio is the same thing but arguably the steeper upgrade. It will probably be mixed Scorpio/One then eventually just do BC with the One and replace it.
I'm not omitting that Scorpio splitting the userbase is good either but I wans't talking about it either to begin with.

The Scorpio is a suped up Xbox one. It isn't a new console. Just like the PS4pro is with the ps4.
If ps pro was scorpio it would be like ps4 Elite. It's only got 2 more TFLOPS then the pro. That's not enough to create anything that will make pro look flabby

Your post sounds like you think Scorpio will play different games than the xb1.

Not same exact, just in terms of what is going to be "playable".
In terms of presentation & performance they will be different enough - probably enough to warrant replacing down the line. Think of it like dropping future support for Windows 7. It aligns more of what Microsoft hinted at with refreshes every so years instead of a traditional cycle.
Unless they're already doing yet another console for when Sony drops the PS5.
They would have to release a new console when the PS5 drops.
The scorpio is NOT a new console. EVERYTHING that is playable on a scorpio will be playable on an xb1.
Its an upgraded xbox one. There will be no scorpio specific games or features outside of 4K and FPS performance.
