Nothing is stopping an MC from being as creative and having as much of a vision as a producer. Kanye didnt start designing fashion and directing videos because he makes beats AND rhymes breh. Kanye is the best artist in the game since 2004, any year he drops he has te best album. Easily top 5 discography.
Jay-z however has an overall better discography and it goes without saying that Jay-z is a better rapper and his 20 best songs are probably all better than Kanyes best songs.. What's interesting though is that not a single active rapper is close. Outkast if they count, but that's it. Jays biggest problem is that he minimizes his sales by doing what he does best, he can't find his balance as good as Kanye.

Hiphop overall is influenced by Kanye, Jay is not a real god of course his talented bro will influence him, he respects him enough to let him executive produce his album. Now in his 40+ days.
