@mag357 i think I’ve read some of your past posts. So I know u have common sense. Which is why I was perplexed by your stance in this thread with regards to old cars.

then it occurred to me your situation must be different from that of the other guys.

if you don’t drive no more than 20 miles a day, and you’re financially astute I can see why You’d want to stick to old cars. As u said, debt ain’t no joke.

however, the stance u have is the perfectly wrong one to have if u spend huge amounts time on the road. A car as old as the one you posted is not the type of car I’d feel comfortable allowing a loved one to drive in. U may feel your car is reliable and it probably is. But how well does it perform if ever in an accident with a more modern car?

these are things u need to consider. But as I said, if u don’t spend that much time on the road, a car like that will do just fine.

Thanx for the really good quote.
And yes, I don't spend alot of time on the road in my vehicle.

I didn't post a vehicle, so I'm not sure which one you meant.

But The video in the OP is crazy. And like one brother already said, that's probly some 3rd world country shyt or something someone posted just for laughs.
No one who knows cars even just alil bit would be riding in shyt that can kill them lol.

Now that that's out the way...
Without doing any research, I can guarantee the average person is not driving a crazy amount of miles everyday.
They go to and from work. To and from the stores.
Maybe visit a muthafuka or 2 every once in a while.
Anybody driving over 100miles and shyt a day or something would be an outlier. (That may be you)
And I still would look at a person like "damn... You really running that nice new car into the fukking ground with all that back and forth".

I almost can't think of a reason to ever have a newer car, unless you got big bread and you're buying that shyt straight out.

Learn basics about vehicles, or have a family member who knows cars...or have a great relationship with your mechanic.

You'll live good off the fact that most people don't mind living in debt... Just to have something new to ride around the neighborhood in

Point A to B for many older whips is a tall task in itself.

Thats a good secondary car for local errands. never for your primary one.

People's primary reason to have a car is to go from Point A to B.
If you're cool with spending a good amount of money each month for a vehicle to go from one end of the community to the next.
That's cool. Cause some of y'all got it like that.
And what's a thousand dollars a month to a baller.

I think Im doing ok for myself.. Lol..
But I ain't fukking with it lol

:mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

6 certs, 6 figs, 600k miles. :russ:

It's just not the safety or reliability aspect of it; I just like driving new cars. :manny:

Some folks use flip phones and some folks switch iPhones once a year. Some folks like to go OT and take trips, some folks like staying at the house.

We all like to spend (or save) money for different things.

The stacking bread argument sounds good in theory, but you can't take that shyt with you so it's going to something or someone at some point in time.
:yeshrug:

I had to chime in on your quote bro...
Because you kept it real.

People just like having a bunch of newer shyt.
And that's cool.

A nikka like me don't fukk with older cars because i care about "stacking bread" .... because like you said, you can't take that shyt with you.

But I know one thing. I don't have to work hard at all lol.
I know that when family needs money, Bamm... They got it.

nikkaz can't take the money they save to the grave with them...
But nikkaz can't take the new car and the new iphone with them either.

But whatever makes a man happy on this earth tho
Go for it

And used cars are like needy women...

You fix one problem, then comes another problem shortly thereafter...
My thing is. Okay I spend $750 a year on repairs for a 25 year old car. nikkas spending that much on car note + insurance a month.

It’s what I like to do on a slow April Saturday afternoon. Put some music on, a beer, and get under the hood
I just like having newer cars and never really understood the appeal of older ones unless they're exotics.
:manny:

Unless I had all my money tied up somewhere else big or didn't have a job, I would never choose to push an older ride if I could help it.

:yeshrug:
People drive reckless in Chi, the roads are terrible. Winter weather is ass. I don’t see the point in copping a brand new car with all those factors.

Point taken, but the average Moe doesn't really know cars like that.

I got rid of my Mercury truck recently because the trans was going out. Everything else was fine and most of the miles were accumulated in Texas. If i was a mechanic, I likely would have kept it. But in this case, the ends didn't justify the means, so I wiped my hands clean from it.
