I'm loving it. Ayo @BmoreGorilla , props again. I don't think you have to keep on reminding cats why Ghost was included. It's already well established within the culture that Ghost is one of the GOAT level MCs.

Let the people respond. Put ghost in the convo and he'll get those votes. :ehh:

I didn't realize ghost was in my top 5 until 2 years ago (basically came to that realization after bumping supreme clientele for 10+ years)

Anytime Top 10/GOAT conversations are brought up in here Ghost is routinely heavily mentioned and very few people tend to disagree with his placement in there. The God has just been that fukking outstanding in his career. He once said that he was the "rap Derek Jeter" and I feel that is a fukking dead on comparison. Clutch and consistently great throughout his career, but never had that one year that he was THAT nikka.

Trust me his time is coming breh. He's gonna be a part of a poll with Prodigy, 3stacks. Undecided on the other 2.

Maybe Raekwon, Bun B, or Q Tip:patrice:

Definitely open to suggestions

Throw in pharoah monche breh

Maybe even phife diggy :patrice:

Btw I owe you about 50 + rep for this little series you got going so don't be surprised if I start repping random posts by you in the future :myman:

Nas definitely been more consistent than Cube. Cube came out the gate like a bat outta hell (first few albums are :whew:) but let's be real...he hasn't been good for a loooooong time.
Ghost has been more consistent, I agree, but Nas highs have been higher than Ghosts.
Redman still spits his ass off but his last 3 or 4 albums have been unspectacular
Common doesn't have as many good albums as Nas...no way.
Hov has a dope discography as well but he's been mostly miss in the past 10 years. American Gangster is near classic tho.

I will NEVER take a Top 10 list seriously if it doesn't include Nas. Matter fact, I won't take it seriously if he's not in the Top 5. Real rap.

Cube's peak work beats Nas'.

I think Ironman and SC belong with the best of Nas' work.

Anyway instead of going artist by artist, I could argue you are being bias because Nas hasn't had a spectacular album since 1996. If you believe otherwise who's to say you aren't being bias?

But as I said, this is all preference. I'm in the minority for not having Nas in my 10, but that's my criteria. You don't have Common in yours. You operate by different criteria.

As for the bold,

Monch is a good one. I think Q Tip will go in before Phife becuz overall people tend to put Phife in a sidekick type of role. personally I never thought one was better than the other

You're in the laughably small minority who feels that Nas hasn't had a spectacular album since 96.

Nas peak work is right there with Cube. You're really in some fringe sect if you don't believe so, my n!gga.

I disagree.

I'm in the laughably small minority that believe Nas isn't top 10.

But we talking 'spectacular'? Come on man. 1996. He's had great stuff since then but nothing life changing.

Nas and Cube peak stuff I can accept being equal. Comes down to preference. Two different styles.

Anyway I respect your opinion and your challenging of mine. That's what we have these discussions for.

We need 3k and Big Boi bro. At least the latter!
3stacks will go in the poll before Big Boi. Unfortunately Big Boi gets the Phife treatment by people. Imo Q Tip and 3stacks woulda never made it if they had been solo from the jump and they were perfect within their group but that's just me

Stillmatic, Untitled, Lost Tapes, Life Is Good, Distant Relatives...all post 96...all spectacular albums.

When the last time Cube dropped a "spectacular" album...keep it real to yourself, my n!gga. It's been a looooooooooooong time. Nas still dropping dope albums.

And yea, it's all good. You don't come off as a troll so I definitely don't mind the discussion, breh.

Based on your definition of spectacular, I Rep Tha West
:russ:

Based on my understanding, Lethal Injection

I don't think Nas has an album as good as/better than LI other than Illmatic and IWW

But yeah respect. At least we see eye to eye on the Wu

Imo Cube belongs with the goats based on his first few albums but also the fact that he is Hollywood now but can still go by his MC name. If it wasn't for that dude woulda faded into hip hop's retirement home years ago
