Why do people get mad when there are games on Thursdays? :wtf: If you don't want to see it, don't watch it. And isn't the NBA on like 5 out of 7 days a week?

I have no idea why people get mad that there are games on Thursdays. The NFL apparently isn't suffering for viewership on Sundays so it's a win-win for the league. Most of this whining is based more in feeling than logic.

One of the biggest problems with Thursday Night Football is that it's going to start making weekend/Monday games less enticing. There was a time when MNF was an event. But over the last few years SNF has had better matches imo, by a mile. So far TNF has been broadcasting games I really couldn't care less about, but with the CBS deal I'd imagine they're going to have to pull in some big teams/players to really capitalize on things. They'll be weakening the appeal of SNF/MNF by increasing the amount of trash games they get.

I'd be fine with like, one Thursday game a month. Every Thursday is overkill.

I think the tradeoff for more games and less exciting weekend/Monday games is worth it. More football is better in my opinion.

He may have a point but he speaking like the NBA ain't dying even faster than the NFL is (which to be fair, Cuban may have acknowledged NBA's declining popularity for awhile)

i can't see it happening...at all...the nfl is too ingrained into americana...for it to decline it'd have to be a dramatic shift that won't happen in a decade

It will decline but not in a decade. Once all the top athletes stop playin football and go to other sports due to health reasons its a wrap for the NFL. Same shyt happened to boxing.

like you say you have no interest in them & dont watch them
i mean you and everyone else who feels the same as you have the option not to watch the TNF games as you're doing
while you and many others on this forum not watching them, millions are.
so this gonna be reason nfl gonna implode, because some folks cant muster interest for a game 1 nite in however many TNF games it is?

Because it's potentially three nights a week you have to lose sleep to watch the game. Nobody has to and most don't want too.

Imma keep saying this everytime this topic comes up. Cuban is greatly underrating American society's desire for violence. As long as football is a violent game, it'll stay popular.

Yeah, but the NBA is a legit international product at least when you compare it to the NFL.

Cuban is right tho, it was the build up to the match ups that made the game so appealing it felt like a weekly heavyweight bout. I think a big reason why I turned off espn for good is because of the non-stop NFL coverage the shyt is the epitome of oversaturation.

Implosion? Not a chance. Ratings get better every year. Even those trash ass Thursday night games did well. I wish it were true, but it's tough to see at this point.
Did you pay attention to Thursday night games? It's sloppy shyt with more injuries than other games due to the lack of rest they get. It was our Thursday night game was where we lost Geno Atkins for the year. It's fukking bullshyt

Because, the NFL is bogarting it's way into spaces that it never needed to be in..... all for the sake of people buying the NFL package with their cable provider.
With the advance of the internet people will throw these packages in the bushes. I just threw mine away. fukk paying 37 a month, WHEN I CAN STREAM FOR FREE.
