That's such a myth.

When you look at every TNF game, most of them were pretty good, competitive games.

People throw this shyt out there all the time, the reality is the teams who played on TNF were usually not great teams, so people just weren't interested.
like it or not, the thursday games the teams are sluggish because they arent used to play with only a 3 day break, not in high school or college do you have such shyt.

as such, youre both more prone to injuries or you dont go as hard as you can no homo. this dilutes the quality.

its the same thing with 18 game schedule- it will dilute the overall quality. people think that getting more football will always be better because they want it, but thats not quite the case.

i cant believe so many people in here agree with Cuban :mjlol:

if he owned a nfl team i guarantee you he wouldnt be saying any of this

the nfl aint going nowhere

who gonna take the crown from the nfl? the nba? :mjlol: mlb? :laff:
no one said its finna lose the crown
it will just become less popular

the NFL in late 90s was still king among american sports, but it was nowhere as popular as it has been lately.

True but I don't see the NFL losing any popularity anytime soon

To say its gonna fall off because of Thursday night games is just dumb

You got NBA and mlb fans in here talking about it getting oversaturated because of 1 extra game a week :beli:

Same people probably watch boring ass baseball every day of the week and basketball almost everyday

I can see why Cuban salty(those Thursday games on CBS are gonna kill the NBA on TNT in ratings) I'm just surprised so many people in here are actually agreeing with him

shyt was crystal clear HD and could browse all the games and NFL network.

everyone was like ::gladbron::patrice: is this legal ? how are you able to do this without paying ? seems not worth it :heh:

HD sport streams?

fantasy football alone will keep the NFL alive....

There are more people playing that than watching the NBA finals. The NFL will never die.

Rodgers is already almost 30 and Rivers is old. The new guys are not as good and it will show.

The only thing that can stop the NFL is the demise of the white QB....Other than that the league is bullet proof....

I disagree in that I think other things can stop it ...

But yes, the prevalence of elite white QBs is a HUGE part of the NFL's appeal. As long as the face of the franchise is a white QB, middle america feels good rooting for the team. The day that the elite white QBs disappear, the league's popularity will plummet.

He mad.

Football is simply those most enjoyable sport to watch. Every single play matters, because there's a definite beginning, middle and end, and even if there's not a score, there's a GOAL, a mark that must be reached: 10 yards. So, you're always building toward something until you reach the ultimate goal and it happens just infrequently enough elicit joy, whereas in basketball, you got bammas scoring every 30 seconds or so on average. That's why a lotta people say they only watch the last 5 minutes of NBA games. It's also why some people cannot watch baseball or soccer or hockey, because the scoring is too infrequent and most people don't care about the nuances of those games.

You hit the nail on the head

Football is the most watchable sport for all of the reasons you listed.

I'd also add that the pace of the game is great for people who want action but have limited attention spans. You don't have to pay attention between downs, so you can take a break. But when the play starts, there is lots of action.

you know Im one of the biggest NFL fans on here, period.
thursday night games are part of the reason, they are not the whole reason. a straw doesnt break a camels back, million of straws underneath it do.
