I'm very happy for this year in gaming...

Shadow of Mordor was such a sleeper hit for me.

Arkham Knight & MGSV have blown me away with respect to me getting back into single player experiences.

Gears 1 was actually a remaster done right. Mortal Kombat X was well done.

Sports games have been a disappointment though, even though I'm enjoying Madden 16. Dragon Age & Destiny are amazing gaming experiences if you put the dedication in.

I'm excited for the future.

But that's just the thing. Other than bioshock and maybe Mario Galaxy none of them were seen as "generation defining" classic games at the time they were released. They were just good games. Now that we've played their sequels and saw their impact on the industry we look back at them through nostalgic glasses.

Cod4 was the definition of gen defining, for better or for worse lol. Also Portal is pretty much a perfect game, though P2 took it to the next level.

As I recall it was black ops where COD hit its height in popularity.

I absolutely love portal. But there's plenty of indie type games out now that I would put up there with it, that wouldn't get considered in these types of "best of lists"

In early 2013 brehs were saying you think games are good now just wait till next gen starts games are gonna be GOAT


Then killzone shadowfall,knack and ryse came out


Then brehs said man this is just beginning of the gen wait till 2014 when these systems hit their stride


12 remasters and watch dogs later


Then brehs were like wait till 2015 its gonna be the GOAT year of gaming ever


Now 2015 is almost over with a handful of releases and brehs are saying 2016 and 2017 gonna be the GOAT though

This. 2015 produced some dope games worthy of 60$ but I just dont see this gen being the goat yet. And sorry there really nobody with a PS4 is missing out on owning a Xbox

Look at the multi-plat games Witcher Batman Destiny Call of Duty Fallout 4 to name a few.

I just find it strange that the annoucment of more games postponed by Sony that this thread gets created. Everybody else is eating get good but next gen sucks now. The beginning the shyt did suck but not now.
