Best out of a a pretty bad generation. Doesn't mean that he's not talented, but he benefits a lot from his lackluster opposition. Because of this, people overrate how good he really is. But, I do agree, some people here have some irrational hatred towards him, like you could not like his voice, but don't pretend like he isn't a talented artist. Don't act like he isn't far better than most of his contemporaries.

Name the 10 other solo rappers who dropped 3 consecutive albums accumulating the critical and commercial success he has? Other than Kanye who uses writers. I haven't shoehorned Kendrick in my top 10 either but outside of him not being great at features I can't think of an objective reason to say there's no argument.
And those people are considered "east coast" haters for shytting on wack artist like Cardi B,and for saying Dave East is average to mediocre. So what should someone who downplays Kendrick who has done what he's done,and shyts on Kendrick be called other than a west coast hater whos jealous of the west

Funny how you skipped over the Jigga portion of my argument lol I think that a lot of us Coast to Coast don't give a fukk about the struggles of the 90s yet they still reject Kendrick. Rap is wayyy more simple than what you give it credit for. If you hear an artist is supposed to have bars you'll be on the lookout for...bars! If he doesn't then you'll be way more critical of him versus a YG who is aiming for something totally different. I'm not concerned with his accolades because business is business. I'm not worried about critical acclaim because all the white People that have a strangle hold on music journalism apparently look for something different than those who have this as a foundation...which is fine! lol Listen man...Kendrick is cool but it's hilarious hearing people jumping up & down for what he does when it ain't that serious.
