This dude really was gonna put drew wwwbanks out there over gorgui dieng. Thank God drew was trash

Team playing so well then demar gets subbed in and stinks up the joint

Takes out gorgui for poeltl just for him to continue to commit offensive fouls

At least rudy showed up a bit

Just don't draft another 6'4 6'5 nikka and play him at the 3 and 4

Draft a wing, let demar walk and sign duncan Robinson because duh. I'll even take lauri markannen

I've already accepted the fact that patty is coming back and rudy fills a need for that 4 spot. 1 year contract. Wouldn't mind if he comes back if he's willing to stick around.

If you are making this comment in reference to Pop’s legacy, I don’t think this affects it all that much. Pop is a 5 time champion and HOFer. No one is going to judge his career off a few subpar seasons at the end.

If you’re making this comment because Pop’s game philosophy is no longer effective in this league, then I agree. But, I would also say that Pop has somewhat earned the right to go out on his own terms. And that it probably can’t just be Popovich’s fault. For the Spurs to play this style of basketball in this era, the front office has to be supporting it. So fixing the Spurs may not be a simple case of Pop stepping down. It might require a fundamental philosophical shift across the organization. I only say this because if there are people at the top who would prefer the Spurs play a different style of ball, you’d have to think SOMETHING would leak out over it. This is the NBA after all...

if his wife didn’t die I truly don’t think he would keep coaching now she gone he needed a outlet unfortunately:mjcry:

Spurs clearly need size. Potel is good but they can do better. My young bul Keldon Johnson is a fukking beast already but he’s undersized. valanciunas was eating their damn lunch all night, but to be fair, he’s been sonning everybody this year. A 7 footer that actually plays his size and takes advantage of smaller teams :ohhh:

Spurs could of won last night, but the Grizz just out played them. This is not indicative of Pop’s coaching, it’s more so his personnel. That DD/LMA core was always a awkward fit and this is their ceiling.

The score was close right down to the 5 minute mark in the 4th. They only lost by 4 points. Rudy Gay and Patty & others were hitting shots. They even out scored the Grizzlies in the 4th. That first quarter deficit they were in is what bit them in the ass at the end of the day. You reply with a smiley because you don’t have a argument.

Demar DeRozan went 5-21 ...just about every one of those shots being a contested midrange jumper.

In fact, the Spurs spent most of the night shooting contested midrange jumpers. And they paid for it. They shot 35%. Truly ugly.

It is great when they go in. But when they don’t, it highlights the spacing issues the Spurs have dealt with for years now. And we don’t have Duncan with his down low dominance to save us like we did in the past.

Perhaps the frustrating part of it is that we finally have some athletic young players who could benefit from a more open system. Who the hell wouldn’t want to see Murray and Walker running the floor on more fast breaks and open corner threes? Utilized properly there are some potential all stars on the roster right now.

I’m not particularly sold on Poetl and Kendon. I think Poetl is an offensive zero and offers nothing as a pick and roll option, and Keldon is undersized. But maybe with Samanic getting more minutes and if we can find a real Center...things could happen quickly.

Yeah DD struggled badly last night. When your best player can’t/doesn’t shoot 3’s and is not LeBron or Giannis level type of dominant then the team is gonna struggle to score points. Poetl is wack on offense but his defense is what keeps him on the court. A line up of Murray, Walker, Keldon, Lauri, Poeltl could be a fun team to watch.

The Spurs are in dire need of 3 and D wings, when that midrange isn't hitting is stalls the offense and it worse because Memphis is excellent at defending inside the 2 point line. Despite all this it was still a close game.
