Pop realizes the Spurs were being left behind, and now they have to catch up. bu-bu-but the Spurs don't need to shoot more 3s.

If they're not "good enough" to take them, why is Pop saying now that they're going to now take more of them? Are you saying that Pop is wrong for looking to get them to shoot 3s next season because they're not "good enough" to take them?Yeah, well the fact that they aren't good at them is probably a big enough reason for them not to be taking them.
Seeding is meaningless in this context - the Nuggets were 1-2 games from being a 5th seed, and six games were all that separated the Nuggets and Spurs. The majority of the Nuggets roster had NEVER been to the playoffs before, and Malone had NEVER coached in the playoffs before, they were a significant disadvantage (experience wise) against the Spurs.Secondly, a 7th seed that just took a 2 seed to 7 games didnt get left behind. Only an idiot would think otherwise. Such as yourself.

Poetic justice for all those who disregarded my opinion from the start (you obviously weren't one of those, and one of a few who actually listened to what I was trying to say). It was "kinda lame" my opinion wasn't taken in the right context by everyone, why should I be expected to play flair?Kinda lame how GSH waited until the Spurs lost to up it but it wasn't as if he didn't have merit to his message. Might have said it in a way that aesthetically pleasing but take Al Horford for example (as i've used Marc Gasol and Blake Griffin earlier in this thread as examples). Horford looked to had maxed out his value in his next to last year in ATL but since then, he's added the 3 to his game and that has opened up the floor for him and he's been able to show off his passing ability as well.
LMA has the game and touch to ATTEMPT atleast three 3's a game, he just hasn't done it

Like I mentioned before: I wasn't even going to ever post on this board again past 2018, because of how insufferable this place has become, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity of giving it to these fukk nikkas one last time. So yes, I purposefully logged in once the Spurs lost, not because my argument had anything to do with the Spurs losing, but because folks upped this thread and made my argument about the Spurs winning/losing, it's only right I returned serve when they lost for good.

Except when I originally made this argument, I didn't use "hyperbolic language" and wasn't coming off like a "pretentious bytch", yet folks still didn't consider my point - I was met with complete hostility and folks refused to hear me out because of their attachment to the past (because they hate the 3-pt shot), and other folks simply have it out for me.maybe if you didnt use such hyperbolic language and come off as a pretentious bytch (and hid like a faggit when the Spurs were making a playoff push), we'd consider your point.
I thought I would've copied and pasted this enough times for everyone to see:You do know the Spurs finished in the top 5 in offense right?
San Antonio were the 26th-ranked team during the regular season when it came to spacing, but if you were to compare their starters v. starters from the across the league, not only would they have ranked dead-last, but the margin between them and the second-worst team was greater than the 1st and the 20th-ranked starters.Spacing heat map rankings:
1. Bucks
2. Celtics
3. Warriors
4. Rockets
5. Hawks
26. Spurs
Purely from a strategical standpoint, the Spurs' starters offense operated on a level that would've befitted play during the 1990s - light years behind today's league.
San Antonio were the 29th-ranked team during the regular season when it came to generation of shots, reiterating their inability to generate good* shots [good = uncontested and defense out of position], reflected by their overreliance on activity in the midrange, in a climate where defenses are typically stretched beyond the arc, which made it easier for their opposition to defend their offense (as opposition defenses usually are covering more ground and making more defensive adjustments against teams who shoot higher volume 3s - opposition defenses traveled less distance on defense against the Spurs than any other team during the regular season).Shot generation v. defender rankings
1. Bucks
2. Celtics
3. Hawks
4. Nets
5. Jazz
29. Spurs
Basically, SA's pro tem offense was based on their players' talent and ability to generate points in ISO; off-balance/non-set, contested shots; heavy traffic; less space to work in - in spite of their offensive scheme which was holding them back (lack of spacing and lack of 'good' shot creation). This came to a head during the regular season in the games when they shot less than league-average on contested shots, where they ranked 24th on offense (this is to put into perspective how detrimental their offensive strategy was when they weren't making contested shots - they ranked top-5 in contested shot makes during the regular season, and #3 during the first round - contrary to popular belief that the Spurs lack the talent/personnel to win, they were actually winning/in position to win due to their players' ability to make tough shots, not their scheme/game-plan).
The cutting off their nose to spite their face act of trying to match 33% 3-pt efficiency (which is below league-average as it is) through shooting 50% on midrange shots, not only put themselves at an efficiency disadvantage, but they made an improbable task even more improbable by swimming against the tide trying to get those type of shots off in the first place.
TL;DR - Spurs' offensive scheme is completely outdated; Pop got left behind because he and the coaching staff failed to adjust to the 3-pt climate, and relied too heavily on mid post-ups, DD and midrange spots; the ability of the Spurs' players was the main reason that they were in position to win games, in spite of the coaching.
Demar has not shown the ability to shoot 3s thoughI don't even know why Pop had Demar and Lamarcus not shooting 3s when they shown the ability to.
