For all the nikkas suggesting anything other than Apple, it is not going to work with regards to parents. My dad had an off brand tablet, and it was hard to navigate through it. Even I was like wtf? Apple is easiest to use, I showed my dad how to do things only one time and he gets it.

I beg to differ. The Galaxy line is pretty easy too. I have an ipad mini and bought my fiancee and my moms Galaxy Tablets. I find myself using their tablets more than mines

there is no point in talking about the actual tech.. or discussing other options..

she asked for the ipad. she's not gonna want to unwrap a galaxy with him standing there muttering about specs and shyt.

i bought my parents both nexus 7s as a surprise gift. they looked at it like "shyt ain't samsung, son.. "

they're not trying to use the tablet to its fullest.. they just wanna pull that bytch out at the salon or church.. and have people instantly recognize that they got the ipad

they don't want to pull out their plain black tab when the lady next to her got the ipad air


i would recommend setting everything up beforehand.. make her an apple account.. download some interesting apps/games.. slip in a $25 itunes card with the christmas card.

that way, you lower the chances of the tab just staying barebones

That was my rationale a year ago. I figured it was mostly for books and made sense.

That works on any tablet though. As long as you have the Kindle app your good... I have the app on 4 tablets (2 mine and 1 for each of my daughters) When I buy a book for my daughter I choose their device and it goes to whomever device I chose.
