At around midnight my mother and I was just in a big accident on the 495 Beltway with two other cars. The driver that rear ended us was drunk and racing some friend. Her and I are ok but it's a problem because my mom was just in an accident a month ago today and she survived that too. Brehs, I think I have PTSD cuz when I put the toilet seat up to take a piss I went into the mirror to clean my face. Suddenly the toilet seat dropped on its own and I literally freaked the fukk out and started screaming and shaking. It was like the accident happened all over again, even now I'm just.....man I don't have any words. All I can say is cherish your life......

@2Quik4UHoes glad you're okay, brother.

I have a law practice and do personal injury cases from time to time, so my advice (personal, not legal) would be to get to a hospital ASAP and get checked out. I've had clients that felt fine, but they went to the hospital anyway as a precaution and it turned out they were diagnosed with a concussion or had some internal bleeding issues that they would have never known about otherwise. Even if you don't want to pursue legal action, I recommend you definitely at least see a doctor.

If you're interested in being compensated, I would definitely suggest you get an attorney. It doesn't cost you anything up front and they'll take 1/3 of your final settlement. I know dude up top told you to just do it yourself, which you can certainly do, but again, my personal advice would be to use an attorney. I'll tell you why...

In Florida, at least, 80% of your medical bills would be taken care of by your insurance, meaning you'd be responsible for the other 20%. Typically, this would come out of your settlement. So if your bills came out to $30k (which isn't that much, trust me), your portion would be $6k. If you got a settlement for $10k, you'd pocket $4k.

On the other hand, attorneys don't just send you to any treatment clinic, we send you to one we have a preexisting relationship with. So same scenario as above, except that an attorney you hire can easily call the treatment clinic and say "The settlement in this case was only $10k, I need you to waive the 20% that my client is responsible for because I need to put more money in his pocket." and they'll do it because the attorney sends them dozens of patients a month. On top of that, the treatment clinics overbill anyway, because they know they likely won't be collecting on that 20% if the attorney is involved. So with an attorney, you got the same $10k settlement, he took 1/3, and you got $6,666.67. Which is more than you would have gotten on your own, not to mention they did all the work, all you had to do was show up a few times a week for treatment.

I was in one two years ago on the 710 headed back to Long Beach the night after Halloween.

I was getting my :cape: on for my friend and didn't sleep all night so I could take her home.

Finally on the way back on the freeway I fell asleep behind the wheel, drove straight into another car woke up from the car spinning out of control with all kinds of fumes coming out of the hood.

Mind you I didn't even have a drivers license at the time :snoop:

I was so close to hit jail breh or even worse lose my life but in the end I was lucky, only had to pay the repairs the other car and mine.

For two full years I was suffering from anxiety whenever I was driving on the freeway or when I heard loud sudden noises.

Time is the best medicine tho and even tho I still feel bad about it, I got over it and when I drive I'm all kinds of relaxed now.

Don't beat yourself too much about it breh, enjoy life and be happy
