I was on the Panthers board and they all saying Bryce Young is a bust. I hate to say this but

Too much capital and investment. The same qualifiers for what made him number 1 you hope shows itself in the pros. Just saying you gotta give it some time especially for the QB position.

I felt this way in the preseason watching him play. If you been playing, watching, or a fan of football for a while you should be able to pick up the vibe pretty soon on a #1 overall pick at QB. And yeah Panthers made the pick wrong. Bryce Young is a career journey man in the league. Interesting thing though is that they will probably have the #1 pick and a chance to take Caleb Williams. Can they put their ego aside and do this, which would be admitting they screwed up drafting Bryce?

So why are we not blaming coaching/personnel around him like people like to do with other QBs? Do you think he looks this bad if he goes to the 9ers or the Eagles? Hell, it's his rookie season so it should be expected that he struggles especially playing for a team like the Panthers.

Knowing what I know about NFL franchises and proper coaching, I can’t call anyone a bust especially on their first year/coach/offensive coordinator.

It’s not looking good for him but I’m not writing him off yet because if you told me Geno Smith would end up a pro bowl level QB I wouldn’t have believed you.

Teams are less patient now though. Offenses in the NFL are running similar concepts to what they did in college.

Pass interference is slanted towards the offense. Roughing the passer is called a lot.

So teams want to see more from their rookies.

I agree that Bryce should get some more time. But he needs to flash.
