They won't have the draft ammo to pull a Josh Rosen and take another QB high so they gotta roll with Bryce. He's looked bad but that team just sucks so I can't say he will be a career journeyman or anything like that. They dismantled the great run game they had last year, they don't have enough weapons at WR or TE either. Get him weapons and then see what happens.
Worse thing about that 1st round track is that there's gonna be some really good WRs in the first round who would help Bryce. Keon Coleman, Rome Odunze, and of course Marvin Harrison Jr. Brock Bowers is another dude who could be the big weapon he'd need. But none of those guys will be there in the second round.

I am not calling him a bust yet. However, how many busts do you see in good situations? Does it happen? Of course. But the overwhelming majority if them are in shytty situations and they still get called busts. As long as fans accept the QB savior model, this is the risk you will run as a highly touted QB.

Not only that, it seemed like the Carolina staff wanted CJ but the owner stepped in and made the choice for Bryce.
This year is a wash but they don’t have a first round pick in 2024 and they have major issues to address with not just some offensive weapons but also the O-line.
Meanwhile the Texans have the Browns 1st round pick in 2024. The Browns are winning enough games so the Texans won’t be getting MHJ but Keon Coleman might be on the board.

Yes, because he's 6'5. Tougher with 5'10 Bryce.
He's smart but I think height/size will always be a limiting factor. If you put him in a situation where he's surrounded by talent or an elite HC/OC he could be effective.
But Panthers gave up weapons and picks to give him. In that spot you want someone who can carry a team and he hasn't shown flashes of that.
