Player that turned out better than expected: Michael Carter-Williams. They played us in their season opener & he was not the same dude I saw at Cuse at all. For starters, he was hitting pull-up 3s

Player that turned out worse than expected: Michael Beasley, but I'm sure that's no surprise

how did idiots think MCW was gonna be bad? he's a 6'6 point guard with unbelievable passing and rebounding...i def. compared him to rondo, but he's already a better scorer :wow:

Derrick Rose :snoop::snoop::snoop::snoop::snoop::snoop:

Thought he was gonna be a bust cuz of his broke jumpshot, lack of point guard skills and shaky dribble but his ridiculous athleticism took him to the top

:mjpls: Now that his athleticism is gone maybe I wasn't wrong

If I listed everyone this post would be soooooooooo long...but here's a few I think of off top

God Shamgod...I thought he was going to be the best ever...I stanned him so hard when him and Croshere carried Providence to the elite eight

T.J. Ford...I thought he was going to be one of the greatest point guards of all-time...that final four run with Texas had me sold

Dirk Nowitzki...I didn't know anything about him...but I was living in Dallas at the time and I made fun of Mavericks fans constantly for trading away Tractor Traylor for some scrub from Germany...:facepalm:

the NFL guys seem to surprise more because there's so many more variables...but I remember thinking Cadillac Williams was going to be the truth...but that never really happened...that same year I was also riding hard for J.J. Arrington...I liked that guy at Cal...again not what I expected.

-:manny: I thought Okafor was going to be a better player than Howard and was going to be a franchise center for a decade. :why: But, he proceeded to find a way to decline ever since his rookie season.
-:beli: I thought Charlie V was going to be a 20+ scorer for years to come.
-:snoop: Jerryd Bayless, at worst I thought he was going to be a poor-man's AI.
-Terrence Williams, thought he would be a solid player in the NBA.
-Tyreke Evans, thought he was going to be the best player in the 2009 draft.
-Bismack Biyombo, thought he was going to be a DPOTY type along with being a double-double type player.
-MarShoon Brooks, thought he was going to be a Joe Johnson level of scorer.

JJ Redikk - he's become a good player now but I remember watching his 40pt game for Duke and thinking he was gonna be the next elite shooter. Kind of like Reggie Miller .
