Its not based on ANY of Lovecraft’s work. Its based on a book by a white man named Matt Ruff, who named it after his INSPIRATION for Lovecraft’s writing.

Did you read that last part somewhere? Hollywood producers are essentially baby sitters and 99% of the time see dailies and exert some creative control.

And from what I read it was Peele who brought the show idea to Abrams and hand picked Misha Green.

Green is not getting a budget like this at HBO without Peele and Abrams' hands on involvement. Regardless of what they say to the press.
