still dont get how obi wan was able to defeat darth maul, grevious, and cut down anakin, yet was sonned by a 80 yera old dooku twice

IIRC, Maul became a showboating jackass when he had Obi dead to rights. All he had to do was force push Obi off that edge he was holding on to and it would have been a wrap. But what did he do? He decided to shower sparks on him He deserved getting cut in half and thrown in the bushes.

Obi leaps into the air while Maul just watches him flip over him and cuts him, but when Anakin does the exact same thing it's supposed to be him being over-confident and a way to be defeated.

Obi leaps into the air while Maul just watches him flip over him and cuts him, but when Anakin does the exact same thing it's supposed to be him being over-confident and a way to be defeated.

If that flip is Obi Wan signature move he would know how to counter it. Since Skywalker would have learned that move from Obi and basically been trying to beat him with his own shyt he was being cocky. The movies did a bad job showing that if it was meant to be the case but it's not a huge leap in logic.

It's not really a hard move to counter though. You have a lightsaber in your hand and a fool flips over your head, you carve him up. Anakin deservedly gets sonned, but Obi-Won does the same thing and Darth Maul is just looking at him like a retard

Dudes are missing the point. The reason why Maul lost is because of his nature. He's a Sith. A Jedi would not have done that stupid shyt. He wouldn't played with his food. If one is going to do battle, engage and then end it. Don't mock your opponent or maim them or some other stupid shyt. All that is an illusion just like the Jedi always say when it comes to the Dark Side.

And the Jedi were not emotionless, they recognized that excessively mourning a lost one is negative energy and that negative energy will stick with you, effect your moods and cloud your judgement and cause you to do stupid shyt. It's no different than what a shrink will tell you, yeah its ok to be sad but at some point you gotta let shyt go and move on.

That's what I mean when I say it was poorly presented if it was done for a reason. If it was a specialty of Obit Wan there could have been more to it that kept Obi Wan protected from a counter attack as he was flipping, something force based, that Vader either didn't know or that Obi Wan could overcome that caused his downfall.

This wasn't shown or hinted at on film leaving it looking like a stupid, inconsistent move.

Nah the Jedi of that time were flawed with how they handled that. Luke's New Jedi Order was much better.
