Harden said what he said out of anger and y'all run with it cause you want Giannis to play how you want him to play
Basically. Giannis was sayin petty shyt about him for weeks/months publicly, so Harden who is typically reserved finally snapped back.
Giannis was animated that year, the shots at Harden and declaring he was “taking the crown” from LeBron...
He got humbled in the bubble, so he stfu and came back this year with less smack talk and more focus/maturity.
That’s really what it was about.

@Primetime what shots was he taking ? I don’t remember him saying anything that made any headlines.
It's in the first post of the threadstarter, my brother. Literally what Harden was responding to, as it made national news and he was asked in a sitdown about it.
There were other comments Giannis made to the press about targeting Harden in the all star game (it backfired bc they kept failing to post him up in the game) but it had ppl wondering why the constant jabs and specific name drops all of a sudden. Hell, this is what i said about it last year in this same thread:
KD said the same shyt about Shaq several years ago, in defense of his teammate that Shaq stayed shytting on, unprovoked.
In both cases, in a vacuum you can take the retaliation as an unprovoked jab if people only give you half of the quote without context for why it was brought up to begin with.

IMO Harden's jab wasn't that deep either. You gon say nobody wants to play with me bc i'm selfish/don't pass? (which ain't true), then i'm gon say you just 7 feet with no skill (which ain't true)
