I have a patient that played the blues way back in the day(he's not famous so don't ask) and he has pictures with some of the greats. His TV channel stays on blues music radio. Long story short he started crying and kept saying he wish he never started playing because it's how he met the devil. Said there's so much power in the lyrics and music alone and some places you can actually meet the devil. I asked him if he wanted me to change the channel and he just said"it's too late now, I'm already blind, hell be here to finish be off soon enough"
I've seen the Robert Johnson documentary, anybody else heard these stories?

He used his shyt for bad and that's his fault. That music initially comes from religious music, which was to commune with God.

Also Robert Johnson, like a lot of black virtuosos were villainized because they were good musicians, and because of the schism of Black Music branching off from Religious communal music. The crossroads is where a lot of transients meet and exchange culture. It was also where a lot of Musicians played. WC Handy the father of blues remarked that he tooked the stylings of it from a transient playing at one. Also, cacs did not understand the continuous use of syncopation. There is nothing inherently evil about it.

You don't believe the stories about the crossroads and him being poisoned?

No because we have black intellectuals who busted their ass researching Black American history, finding and interviewing people to stop this superstitious bullshyt that's killing the community.

Blues Music comes from field hollers and prison. It's about knowing you're in a tough spot but knowing you'll make it out as long as you keep your head up. Study the actual music and it's conjunction with American history. Theres nothing devilish about that.

Yes the music is powerful and can be used if you try and appeal to peoples vices on purpose. You can see it in Travis Scott the remnants of the Church Preacher that Bluesmen tapped into. The Adlibs, Runs, group participation in the songs from HipHop come from the Church. Thats why all these kids go crazy for him, and him also having the machine behind him.

But Robert Johnson was just very good at guitar because he practiced. Like Chevalier st Georges earned the envy of Mozart because he out did him

Nah but OG refuses to sleep in the bed because he's legit afraid the devil gone snatch him up. Sleeps up right as possible in a hospice chair
Heads up. Look up those old jewish texts, and ask yourself, "what exactly was satan's job in heaven?":jbhmm:

An old head pentaacostal preacher laid it out for me one day. Lucifer was in charge of heaven's music. The devil himself probably played guitar in God's orchestra. As a fellow guitarist, even i gotta admit there is something eeire about how music can possess you when you are in a song.:hubie:

I can't lie I've been caught in a trance by a song and didn't realize it. Especially instrumentals from African countries

Syncopation, and thousands of years of choosing and discarding chord progression that do not and do work

Nah, but your other question about poisoning, I believe that shyt happened, for sure. That's the case with a lot of Black Musicians and other figures. Jimi, Sam Cooke, James Brown, etc. Death Clause type shyt.
