Heads up. Look up those old jewish texts, and ask yourself, "what exactly was satan's job in heaven?":jbhmm:

An old head pentaacostal preacher laid it out for me one day. Lucifer was in charge of heaven's music. The devil himself probably played guitar in God's orchestra. As a fellow guitarist, even i gotta admit there is something eeire about how music can possess you when you are in a song.:hubie:
This is not true at all, it's just some superstitious nonsense made up by cac Catholics

It's not mystical magical superpower shyt. It's music theory and practice. 2000 years of studying chord progressions, which notes are dissonant and harmonious and how to play in time. 2000 years of people practicing together and creating standards.

These popular musicians yall listen to are a minority. The people writing, and producing their shyt are Music Conservatory kids. Who are listening to improvisational music in the womb and then developing perfect pitch before 6 years old. And then they are playing music their whole grade school lives until the music observatory school. By then, they have experience in playing in groups, improvisation and they know all chords, chord progressions, scales, and keys. Then they go to these schools and are reading and playing music, and singing notes from sun up to sun down. Then when they graduate they dont need to audition for gigs. Auditioning is for us plebs who had one teacher their whole life. Then they go and are the writers for popular music, orchestras, music sound tracks, commercial jingles, video games music, ETC ETC.

It's because these songs are crafted by people who are basically LIVING music themselves. Through a LIFETIME of PRACTICE. Music is also built off of language. Connect Flamenco to fast talking Spanish speakers for example.

Music genres are nothing but commercialised nuances of music tropes people like that are beaten like a dead horse.

Great point

It's really easy to get lost while playing. Playing with other people intensifies that effect immensely.

Satan and music has always been intertwined. One example of this is the "devils triad"

Everyone knows the sounds of Halloween: creaky floorboards, howling winds, the amplified sound of a beating heart. But back in the day, the devil was said to exist in a particular musical tone. For centuries, it was called the devil's interval — or, in Latin, diabolus in musica. In music theory, it's called the "tritone" because it's made of three whole steps.

I have a patient that played the blues way back in the day(he's not famous so don't ask) and he has pictures with some of the greats. His TV channel stays on blues music radio. Long story short he started crying and kept saying he wish he never started playing because it's how he met the devil. Said there's so much power in the lyrics and music alone and some places you can actually meet the devil. I asked him if he wanted me to change the channel and he just said"it's too late now, I'm already blind, hell be here to finish be off soon enough"
I've seen the Robert Johnson documentary, anybody else heard these stories?

Seems like a lot of religious ppl have more faith in Satan than the motherfukker who created him in the first place :mjlol:

Black folk across the board ain't gonna progress if we hold on to any religion
Why do you think that? Are ALL black atheist doing good for themselves or something?

It was a joke!

I feel like a good number Black folk are too religious, even superstitious, and prioritize "God making shyt right" over focusing on practical things

shyt's embarassing when you encounter flat earthers, tinfoil hat wearers and people who self-sabotage their whole lives because of their blind faith

Not saying being religious is wrong within itself, but when it makes you deny basic knowledge, encourage self-hate and delude you, then it's an issue

I play a few instruments including guitar. The amount of progress you can make in a year, hell a couple months is crazy with consistent practice. You can go on YouTube and type in “one year progress on” enter any instrument and see it
Was it tough for you to pick up other instruments after learning on one?

@315 how much do you need to practice the guitar each day/each week to make that amazing progress in a year?
