nikka AINT BEEN IN THE PLAYOFFS IN 2 YRS IN THE EAST.
He went to the playoffs like 7 years in a row in tough western conference..... His game is what it is..... but he aint the problem in NY.. never was.... matter of fact...the Knicks hadn't sniffed the playoff for like 8 years before Melo got there.....

AND AMARE WAS AN MVP CANIDATE BEFORE MELO GOT THERE...
THEY WERE ON THEIR WAY TO THE PLAYOFFS REGARDLESS.

Amare was getting off but the Knicks were a 500 squad when Melo got traded there at the end of the season........
and the following season, the knee collector had came to collect and STAT life was gone..... so in essence.... Melo had a top tier STAT for what? 30 games maybe... after that STAT was nowhere near the same the following season and MELO was the guy for that squad.....
And you big upping George Karl for going to the playoffs one more time without Melo with the western conference version of the 2015 Atlanta Hawks....
and losing to a Green Warriors squad on top of it.... George Karl and talented teams don't go together... The only thing Melo had consistently was an enforcer in Kenyon and an underachieving Nene....... He got AI and Chauncey after their primes.... unless you're referring to Andre Miller and Howard Eisley as this talent you speak of.
Those squads were real solid...... but Melo was the only true talent perse..... and at least he can say he lost to the Spurs and Lakers(championship squads) for 4 to 5 years straight.... it aint like George Karl was taking them anywhere to begin with...

If I'm not mistaken i believe i read somewhere that he was being compared to Dwyane Wade. Either that or they were clowning Wade after Shumpert had a good game vs the Heat.

What our friend @Peter Vecsey conveniently failed to mention is that Carmelo lost in the 1st round in 6 of those 7 years. And @CHICAGO 's right. Even without him the Nuggets went right back to the playoffs the year he left.THOSE NUGGETS TEAM WERE FULL OF TALENT

I thought the change in scenery would do him some good just like it did Garnett (another perennial loser before being traded) but it doesnt seem like it's headed that way.
At least he'll be home in NY since thats wht he wanted. And he got his money too in the process. I say get your money first and worry about 'ships later.
