What our friend @Peter Vecsey conveniently failed to mention is that Carmelo lost in the 1st round in 6 of those 7 years. And @CHICAGO 's right. Even without him the Nuggets went right back to the playoffs the year he left.

I thought the change in scenery would do him some good just like it did Garnett (another perennial loser before being traded) but it doesnt seem like it's headed that way.
At least he'll be home in NY since thats wht he wanted. And he got his money too in the process. I say get your money first and worry about 'ships later.

I also stated that 4 of those years he lost to the Spurs or Lakers....... Pop\Tim and Phil\Kobe\Gasol >>> than Karl and Melo....

And you failed to mention that the Knicks hadn't sniffed the playoffs in like a decade before Melo's arrival

J.R. was great in his 6MOY season since then it's the same knucklehead undisciplined on both ends and wildly inconsistent.

I think you nailed it right there.

JR basketball IQ is equal to ummmmm
tumblr_momeghLEs01r8s70ao1_500.jpg

He was great a 6th man for that simple reason. If you give him set minutes and he has to play WITHIN the game and isn't part of the plan hes very good. But the longer you keep him out there the more you involve him as a starter his lack of basketball (or general) IQ will roar its head sooner or later.

Play him 15-20min get 10-12pts from him and get him out. Instead of playing him 30+ min hoping for a 20 point outburst and you get 3 quick 3s 4 turnovers, bad fouls and WTF are you doing type of shots...

I didnt see that post about Spurs and Lakers. And as for making the playoffs in NY, well... someone had to eventually.

But just saying. Im not one to sh!t on Melo. He is what he is: A lethal scorer with one of the best offensive arsenals in basketball. I like him in a way because his midrange and post-up game reminds me of one of my favorite Heat players ever in Jamal Mashburn. Melo is what many of us Heat fans had hoped that Beasley would become (personally i wanted Beas to be low-post) but thats anothe rstory/

But at the same time i've never been a fan of volume shooters. And it appears that that's what Melo has become. Especially without a strong coach

I remember 2 years ago when the Knicks fans were crowning Iman Shumpert as the next best thing :mjlol:
If I'm not mistaken i believe i read somewhere that he was being compared to Dwyane Wade. Either that or they were clowning Wade after Shumpert had a good game vs the Heat.

Has any fanbase ever hyped up sh!tty to average players more than Knicks fans have?
  1. First their was all their talk about Channing Fry being the next ..Kevin Garnett :mjlol:
  2. Then they came back with "Felton is top 7 PG in the league" thread/posts in the Coli. Yes you read that right.
  3. Then there was the Gallinari crowning :pachaha:.
Granted, they were right about Gallo having a better career than that f@ggot Michael Beasley. :manny: but still nowhere near the GREAT label they were ready to stamp him with. They're the most hardcore basketball fans ever but damn these clown be hyping up trash :laff:

Knicks fans never really realized how important of a piece Chandler was during that 2013 season...he made a lot of things happen.

ATL…overly
Can you even make the argument that Fat Melo is a top 15 player anymore? Being an injury prone, out of shape chucker who doesn't do anything except score isn't something thats worthy of praise. But you Knick nikkas are used to subpar basketball so I'll let y'all cook :sas2:

Let me clarify my post: Im not denying Felton had success in D'Antoni's offens. But it was just that: D'Antoni's offense.

But to take that and rn around crownign doggy as, and i quote "top 7 PG in the L" was ... crazy for lack of a better word

I never understood why people call him fat. He's not ripped like LeBron or even Wade (when Wade gets lazy) but he's not fat. Hell i'd call Paul Pierce fat before i call Melo fat.

People be in here acting lile Melo be at the Buffet with Big Baby Davis. STOP IT :pachaha:

Shumpert was going to be a very good player before he blew out his ACL.

He's still a very good defensive player, he's held Klay in check throughout this series and can knock down the open 3.

I think you mean 2012 season. 2013 the Knicks had their best run when he was injured and Bargarbage was the Center. Never forget that dumbass cost the Knicks the Magic's game

I grew tired of him disappearing in the post season, popping shyt and complaining. That gets worn out quick when you're a max player not playing what you get paid for
